I would like to take my husband's lastname, I'm from Peru and we use the father's lastname and mom's lastname: I would like to have my husband's lastname and keep my mom's lastname... do you think thats possible?? and what papers do we need and where to send them? ohh also my name would change in my home country too? ...... I have a flat in Peru, would I need to change name to keep having the ownership??

i have another question... do you know where i can have my birth certifictae translated into English? mine is in spanish..... and to file the papers i need it in english

Thank you very much for your answers :)

If you want to take your husband's surname then that's what you put in your AOS application and yes its possible to have your mother's name as your middle name and your last name to be your husband's ..like what I did. With regards to changing your name with your passport is that what you mean? I think it depends fromcountry to country..why don't you contact Peru's embassy here in US and ask if you can have your name change in your passport and in your home country. With regards to your birth certificate, if your husband is fluent in english he can have it translated himself . Good luck to you and blessings
