Hi once again. In the next month or two I will be starting the 130 and 129F process for my Colombian wife who lives in Costa Rica. Currently she is visiting me in the U.S. and will be returning to C.R. in September. Then I will send in the forms. If I understand correctly I need a copy of our marriage certificate from Costa Rica and a copy of her divorce papers from her previous marriage in C.R. Both translated into english. Correct? Any other forms from her at this time?

Also proof of Bona Fide marriage and relationship items I have, which ones should I send in. Pictures going back five years of us together in assorted locations as well as of our wedding in C.R., Plane ticket stubbs from my trip to Colombia and hers to the U.S. several times as well as many for me to C.R., travelocity reciepts showing I paid for asst. tickets for her over the past several years. I can also get one of several friends to write a letter (affadavit of support?) Anything else?

Also I am assuming (I know, not a good idea) that the translated documents should be accompanied by copy's of the original untranslated ones. Do the copies need to be notorized? In C.R. or the U.S.?

Also at what point will she need to provide her birth certificate and police reports (Clean History) from the places she has lived since birth?

Many questions, I know, but getting anxious and want to make sure I am going in the right direction.

thanks,

wayno,

Accompanying both I130 and I129F, you will need a G325A for you wife (with her original signatures) and 2 passport sized photos taken within 30 days of filing.

The police record won't be needed until her interview in C.R. Same with her birth certificate. You can submit the additional evidence you have of a bona fide relationship like some pictures, boarding passes, receipts, etc. Affidavits from friends are of little value, but you can submit one or two if you like.

Send the a photocopy of the untranslated docs with the translated version. The translations only need to include a statement by the translator stating that they are fluent in both English and the other language (in this case Spanish) and that they certify that this is a true and accurate translation. If you are fluent in Spanish you could do it yourself as can your wife.
