Hi Everyone,

I got married abroad in November to a US citizen. I am already here in the US on H1B visa since the past two years. I applied for AOS in January. I had sent I-485 and I-130 and was told I did not need to file form I-765 because my H1B visa is valid until June '09. I sent my application to the Chicago lockbox in January.

I completed my Biometrics on February 27th, 2008. On March 1st, I was asked to resubmit a document and had sent it in and was received on March 7th at the National Service Center. Since then, my case status has remained unchanged. I reside in NY and was wondering if anyone has forwarded my application to the field office here. The customer support doesn't seem to have an answer for the past three months.

What to do?

Will you consider going to Infopass ?

btw ... did you check other members' timelines who have similar filing schedules as yours ? I guess other people' timelines may give you an idea on how long you have to wait for in your state.

I think you will be fine ! dont worry ! I am in CA and filed my AOS back in Jan. Biometrics done in March. didnt hear anything about my application until July (got interview appt letter). So before that, I was always worrying about my application. So I went to infopass once in June, however, the person there didnt really say anything. She just said my application was still in Chicago, but I would be fine, just wait !!

So what I could do is WAIT ...

I think there are quite a lot of applications in some states, so the processing time will be longer when compared to other states.

AOS NOA: 1/26/2008

thanks for your response!

we made an appt in the first week of august (that's the earliest availability!!) and hopefully we will get some more info. we called quite a few times and they didn't give us much more information than what it says on the case status online.. which is that it's at the national benefits center. almost everyone else we know that filed around the same time has received their green card or an appt so that's why we are so worried.

anyone else have the same experience?

I am a USC and filed for my husband who is working here on H1B and here is our timeline. We have gotten nothing since he did his biometrics so we're just waiting for an interview letter and not sure what that timeframe should be. Any ideas?

Thanks,

AnTan
