:help: ....Hiiii Friends..

hello friends...My fiances passport has been at the consul for 60 days now..awaiting additional processing..how long can they hold it there..he has a receipt also??? what is your experience with this problem??? ty so much...

Usually when they keep the passport it is a good sign. It means that they expect to issue the visa soon. Sixty days is a bit much however. Well, for Morocco anyway. Have you contacted the department of state to find out how far along your security checks are?

All they tell me at DOS is they are awaiting security checks..cant get any more from them..I am getting so frustrated, should I hire a lawyer to do an inquiry..my liason gets the same response as I get..Im at my wits end

Keep trying, but call on different days. Be as friendly as you can be. Try to find out what security checks they are working on, try to find out if any of them are completed, how long do they think...etc. Some of them are nicer than others.
