Dear friends

I had my interview in the xxx consulate and I had all my papers except one paper. My

I-20 shows that my 2 sponsors were able to show the amount of Money College needed. However, the day of the interview I only showed my brother in law affidavit of support which is not enough concerning bank funds. The other affidavit of support wasn’t shown as I thought that I put in the same papers of my brother in law. I couldn’t explain since I didn’t have it at that time. The consult employer said that she has to do some kind of administrative processing under 221g section. She kept my original I-20 and gives me back my passport and a white paper titled with a purple color with USA embassy sing. If I am right I think the problem is the sponsor and they need to verify my I-20 with college. What shall do? Shall I scan the missed affidavit of support and send it to the consulate email in the 221g? please help!!!!

I really don't have any idea of what you are talking about, I guess you are trying to apply for an F-1 right?? This forum is for those who have a student, work or tourist visa and want to marry a US citizen and apply for a green card while being IN the US already.

I personally had an F-1 about 8 years ago but I dont remember quite a lot, so no help here. Maybe somebody else can help you on this matter.

I'm on an F-1 Visa now. I'm not sure why they took your I-20. If you didn't get the visa they would reject everything and give you a chance to apply again. What country are you from?

I am from Morocco. I think you understood my sitiuation I don't know if i am right about sponsor checking. But in other forum i read that it's just a name checking concerning homeland security.

Either way you need the I-20 back to show the at the Port of Entry. I think you should ask for some kind of clarification on what happened.

they give me that 221 g paper marking administrative processing. They said don't call the consulate we will call you. The day of the intervew the woman said that i passed my interveiw all she need is to send this back to washingtong for investigation. They have an email there" ...@state.gov" what should I say in your opinion.
