So I have my interview on the 17th July, and i'm wondering whether I need any or all of the following:

- My wife's (the sponsor) 2007 tax return (somewhat below the poverty level...)

- An updated I864 from my wife showing the 2007 earnings

- The co-sponsor's 2007 tax return (here's hoping I don't, I fear her (my mother in law))

- An updated I864 from co sponsor showing the 2007 earnings

Also, I got a job soon after getting EAD which is easily enough over poverty to support the pair of us. Is there any way I can sponsor myself? I can produce payslips and employment letter, etc. or do they stick with the sponsor/co-sponsor as submitted?

Tom,

Yes, your wages can indeed be counted.

Have your wife prepare a new I864. Follow the instructions closely for the section wherein the adjustees income for gainful legal employment may be counted. Get documentation from your employer which proves your wages.

Take this document with you to your interview and ask that it be substituted for the I864 submitted at filing time.

If you want to support yourself, you need to fill out I864A with your employement letter.
