I am a U.S. citizen presently residing outside of the U.S. and working with a company not affiliated with the U.S. nor the U.S. military.

I think it is really ridiculous that someone such as I must have domicile. Most people in my situation meet their spouse outside of the U.S. and therefore would naturally prefer to enter the U.S. with our spouse! Not to mention I am a U.S. Citizen who has been married for almost three years now. So the marriage should appear to be legit.

My route consists of the I130, DS 3032, I864, etc, etc. I am a US Citizen and have a question concerning domicile. If I am in the wrong forum, can someone please direct me to the correct forum? Thank you.

I am presently residing outside of the U.S. but plan on returning soon (OR LATER :innocent::whistle: ). I have hit a bump in the road. My spouse had her visa appointment at a U.S. embassy and now they want me to prove U.S. domicile before her visa is granted. Although I am residing outside of the U.S., I do have a place to stay when I return.

Can someone please tell me what specific proof they are looking for? They didn't specify. They only provided my wife with a list of things that can be considered. The embassy is waiting for me to mail proof of domicile along with ANOTHER I864. Then after that, if sufficient proof has been met, my wife will appear or that long awaited list on the Internet to pop in the embassy and submit her passport for the visa!!!!!! Any suggestions as to show domicile would be GREATLY APPRECIATED.

I would hate to have gone this far and then at the end, be rejected and unable to meet the domicile requirement within a year, therefore having to START THE WHOLE PROCESS OVER AGAIN.

If I am in the wrong forum, please direct me to the correct forum.
