Hello. I am about to have an interview within 2 weeks. ahh I am freaking out. I just got a lot paper work from my fiance. He included a copy of his employment letter from his compant, his last year tax return (entire copy of turbotax), past a few months paystubs, bank statement which shows the date he opened the account, his current balance, past 90 days average and his w2. Ok, now I am confused.

1, Does latest tax return need to be notarized?

2, Is it ok to send just print out copies of tax return?

3, Does the employment letter need to be original? His boss sent him with PDF file. Of course his boss's signature was there, but it is just a copy. ( the company's letter head was there).

4, What is the purpose of sending a bank statement? His current balance has to have a lot? He gets paid every 2 weeks, and his balance said 850. He opened his bank account in 2004. and his average balance is not negative.

5, The last question is that what does "any other evidence adequate to establish financial ability to carry out his or her undetaking toward the applicant for what might be indefinite period of time"?

I did not understand this. A supportor can use his or her fiancial fund or whatever, but if he or she sell them, there is no way he or she can support an applicant right? Same thing with employment. My fiance used his employment as supporting evidence. But, if he gets fired or quits his job, he will not be able to support me. Please make this part clear if you know.

Thank you so much for your time.

Ok, now I am confused.

1, Does latest tax return need to be notarized? No, only the I-134 needs to be notarized.

2, Is it ok to send just print out copies of tax return? Yes

3, Does the employment letter need to be original? His boss sent him with PDF file. Of course his boss's signature was there, but it is just a copy. ( the company's letter head was there). No

4, What is the purpose of sending a bank statement? His current balance has to have a lot? He gets paid every 2 weeks, and his balance said 850. He opened his bank account in 2004. and his average balance is not negative. Bank Statements show what kind of activity there is in his account (example: regular deposits/payments)

5, The last question is that what does "any other evidence adequate to establish financial ability to carry out his or her undetaking toward the applicant for what might be indefinite period of time"? So if he doesn't make enough based on the governments established poverty level, then what other proof does he have to show that you won't become a public charge (example: A co-sponsor) Look at this link and click on the download. It'll show you the information for poverty levels : http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/men...00045f3d6a1RCRD

It's not based on a co-sponors funds, but like your fiance, the ability (income) to support you or you and your fiance. Don't worry about him getting fired. Things happen and lets hope it doesn't happen to you, but that's why they ask for a letter of employment..proof that he's an employee in good-standing

I hope this helps :)

Thank you so much for your time.

It is so nice to hear your comment. Ya, it seems that employment letter does not have to original. His boss is actually in Florida and his company has so many branches throughout the US, so they exchange everything through e-mail.

Just in case, I will include his performance evaluation that he got from his boss. It will show how hard he works.

Ah, I replied to your PM Masha2008, but it looks like u2rsobad already got the info to ya. I don't think you'll need that performance evaluation. :) You'll be interviewing with American's, and they will care more about his financial ability to support you and if you two are a real couple, not how hard he works. ;)
