Hi, I'm just curious if you are going to marry a Filipino guy who was born and raised in the Phillipines do you still need to attend the CFO seminar? My fiance was born in PI and he left the country when he was 16 however he lives in an "all-filipino" household and he still have the same Filipino values and all.

Yes you still need to. Sorry. :-(

I'm a filipino born and raised in the PI. I'm 39 now but like your husband I left the PI when I was about 17. I still have all the values, lives in an all filipino community, my parents, sisters, brothers, nieces, cousins, nephews, uncles ,aunts, are all here.

There's nothing the CFO can teach my wife that I cant but unfortunately, my wife still has to go through CFO.

Its a government requirement for every filipino migrants. I am sad to say that you have to take it, you cannot board a plane without CFO sticker attached on your passport.

It will for those who are going to marry caucasian US citizens who are raised different from us, like me. Also, its not only about the difference of cultures but the CFO likewise monitors USC and other caucasian citizens who are serial petitioners of Filipinas. Believe it or not but domestic violence does happen here with unlucky filipina women and the CFO has already helped by relocating them to a different family here or even bringing them back to the Philippines.

Doesn't hurt to take it.

Goodluck
