unless bloomberg gets his wayand you get a c-charge in addition to bridge and tunnel tolls

If he does, it will be an $8 charge, not some ludicrous amount.

double that if coming from outside manhattan (tolls)

Only for NJ commuters - there are no tolls within the 5 boroughs (well there's the Queens Midtown

and Brooklyn Battery Tunnels which are not free, but there are free alternatives for Brooklyn and

Queens commuters.)

And the NJ bridge/tunnel tolls are $4 (with EZPass, regular $6), not $8.

so if you go in and out - $8

if you with within the c-charge zone it is reduced by something like 90%

Lol, 25 quid for those land rovers that never leave the streets, excellent!

However, it is less than clear if Ken will get elected. Boris is the wierdest guy though, I am going to have to find out what his election platform is - one would hope it is something more substantive than doing the opposite of what Ken wants. :P

 I know what you mean.

Driving in central London is a bit of beast at the best of times.

Did Ken ever get away with his proposed idea of widening the congestion zone to include the area around Heathrow airport?

Here we go....

Congestion Pricing Plan Is Dead, Assembly Speaker Says

Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg’s ambitious dream to remake New York City streets with

an elaborate plan for congestion pricing died on Tuesday in a private conference room

on the third floor of the State Capitol.

It was there that Democratic members of the State Assembly, who control the chamber,

held one final meeting to debate the merits of Mr. Bloomberg’s plan, ultimately voting —

in secret — against the idea before Mr. Silver emerged to announce the outcome.

The opposition was so overwhelming, said Sheldon Silver, the Assembly speaker, that

he would not hold an open vote of the full Assembly, though many Republicans were

supportive of Mr. Bloomberg.

“The congestion pricing bill did not have anywhere near a majority of the Democratic

conference, and will not be on the floor of the Assembly,†Mr. Silver said after his meeting

with fellow Democrats.

...

“The word ‘elitist’ came up a number of times,†said Assemblyman Mark Weprin, a Queens

Democrat, who said his constituents overwhelmingly opposed the measure. “The members

who oppose it did so because their constituents opposed it,†Mr. Weprin said. He estimated

that opinion among Assembly Democrats ran four to one against the plan.
