My fiancee was able to get her PASSPORT

She apparently picked the right window per her words this morning.. God guided her to the right interviewer.. She has heard of the nightmares that these interviewers could pose... Like needing more ID's... or wanting older ones ect.. She must have been lucky today. (about 6 weeks ago someone broke in and stolen her wallet with all her ID's) she had to set out and go get all new ID's.. She did have a previous Passport form years ago.. but it was expired and misplaced.. So she had to get a police report. One thing which one crazy.. She had gotten this Passport in her early 20's while in college.. but never used it. Once she graduated.. she for some reason changed her signature.. and I guess the interviewer wanted to test her... so he asked her to sign 3 times with her old signature.. Well, she got real nervous.. but she did as he asked.

I suppose God must have been on her side..

She paid for them to deliver it to her on the 12th her medical should be around the 15th because her interview at the embassy is the 22nd of April.

Well, congratulations!:dance::dance: Since I was one of those unfortunate applicants who was asked to provide valid and old IDs and never provided them, the officer made me sign 3 times as well, to see if I was consistent with my signature. He then counter-checked it with my signature on old documents that I provided as proof that I am who I am. Sorry that your fiancee was victimized by those heartless thugs.

He, he Mike. I know how she felt, I spent 13 hours waiting out side while poor Zenaida waited in line for her passport.

Funny, a news camera crew showed up when we where there. They wanted to film the long lines, and they did so from outside. The official's looked like they might ruff them up at first. I was the only white boy hanging around, thought I may end up on TV.:innocent:

They are going to issue her passport that quickly?

I heard rumor that it was taking minimum one month now to get the passport because there is backlog because of the new type of passports with the electronic chip in them.

Anyone here get a passport renewal recently, how long it take ?

Joy's passport expires the end of November. But were afraid to send it off for renewal and it takes too long then it will delay her doing medical and getting the interview.

I suppose God must have been on her side..

She paid for them to deliver it to her on the 12th her medical should be around the 15th because her interview at the embassy is the 22nd of April.

That is great news indeed! Now she only needs to knock 'em down on the interview and she's all set to be with you for life.

I recently renewed my passport. Applied January 14 got it first week of March (supposed to be 25working days but there were delays)... but I am from Davao and I did not apply for an expedited processing which could have meant at less 50% or 30% faster. Processing in Manila is also way faster than in the provinces.

Processing times used to be the same everywhere in the country but with the new system it is taking longer for "probinsyanos"-people from the province- to get our passport.

Your fiancee could opt to apply in Manila for faster passport processing if need to.

She applied in Manila. I sent cash to expedite.. Her receipt shows it will be available 11th but she paid to have it delivered next day 12th. Thank you for the kind words.
