Hi All!

I started this process back in January/06 and by the way, that USCIS website is totally inaccurate when it comes to wait times!! Anyway they received my I129F petition on January 30. April 21 I received the approval letter stating they were now sending it off to the NVC. I called the NVC yesterday and they haven't received it yet! Can anyone tell me how long it will take for the petition to go to the consulate in Vancouver??? I'd like to be in the States by September. Once the consulate receives my paperwork will they be mailing me out a package of applications??? Who does my medical exam......my doctor?....or do they have specific doctors that do it?? What does it cost?? Can I get an appointment quickly? I would appreciate any kind of input from anyone in my similar situation. Thank you

Michelle

You're still within reason for the NVC to receive it. Ours took 21 days to get from Nebraska to the NVC - most of this time it just sat in Nebraska. Give it another couple of weeks before you start to worry. Once it gets to the NVC, give it another week to get to Vancouver. When the consulate gets it, they will send you Packet 3, which contains the forms you will need. You can see details on that here:

You need to use a special doctor for your medical. You can find a list of them throughout Canada here:

It's usually around $200.

Thanks for the info!! Much appreciated!

Not at all. If you look at the timelines here:

http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/

You will see the real processing times for everyone going through this process, so you can get an idea of how long each stage should be taking on average. Ignore the USCIS processing dates on their web site, they are totally false and inaccurate.

Of course, this depends on everyone entering their timeline information. The more people that enter their timelines, the more accurate this information is.
