Hello all,

Okay a question about the Co-sponsor...

I alone will not be able to sponsor my fiance, as I am a student and barely make even 12,000 a year. Or rather, I haven't had a solid job for one year total. I have had off and on jobs here and there but nothing solid as I am a full time student. Thus I have a co-sponsor. I know this subject has been beaten to death and I REALLY apologize for asking it again, but was not able to find a specific answer.

my co-sponsor is my mother. I am still listed as her dependent, as is my sister. She is still married to my dad but obviously he's not a dependent of hers.

My mother is a teacher and she makes I believe anywhere between 30,000-40,000/year. My dad makes well above 150,000k and my sister and I are his dependents as well, so does the govt. look at this as well?

Okay so from what I understand, the co-sponsor needs to be able to make 125% above the poverty limit for a family of, in my case, 4 people, right? In these 4 people I have included the co-sponsor herself, me, my sister and my fiance. Am I correct in calculating this? If that's the case she needs to make 25,812 annually correct? Out of curiosity if she meets the requirements and exceeds them by a fair amount, then theoretically there should be no problems right, as in the financial part of our visa process (The affadavit of support, I-134) should be no problem and a non-issue? Even without me having a solid job...?

Sorry I am just REALLY freaking out and worrying because I cannot sponsor her alone, and I am just basically finding ways to freak myself out!!! :hehe:

Someone please tell me that I am just being a paranoid idiot and I don't need to worry!! :help:

on a lighter note, I just received my NOA 2 so I will happily assist someone if they have questions about the process up until this point :D
