Affidavit of support question

Hello,

I got some question regarding my petition for my dad. I just got my citizenship and now I am gathering all the paperwork that I will need to petition my father. I got some question and I hope that somebody here can help me and share me their experience. My questions are about affidavit of support:

I know that I have to be 125% above poverty level to pass. Base on 2008 poverty guidelines I have to have an income of $22,000 for a household of 3 (Me & my husband and Dad I’m petitioning). My income pass.

Question 1) On I-134 form. Part 3 of the form is where I have to enter all of my dad’s information. And below that is the following:

Name of spouse and children accompanying or following to join person:

My dad is separated with my mom and has 3 minor children (my brothers and sis). Is this section means that the minor kids can accompany with my dad even if I’m only filing the petition for my dad? My dad only plan to come here without the kids first and then he will file a petition for them later.

Question 2) Since I’m only filing a petition for my dad (so 1 person only) the minor kids that my dad has won’t effect the calculation of the income requirement I have above right?
