Hello All

We have our interview next week and this is all the material we are taking as proof of relationship. Is this going to be enough:

1) Plenty of pictures ranging from several years ago to the wedding including vacations etc.

2) Notarized affidavits from 2 of my friends and one of hers.

3) 2 Checking account statements in both names for the past year

4) Savings account statements for the past year in both names

5) Cards from family and friends after our wedding

6) Renters insurance and car insurance documents in both names

7) Electric bill in both names for past 3 months.

8) Photocopy of signature sheets declaring each other as beneficiaries on our 401K's.

9) 6 months of Amex credit card statements.

In addition we are taking a bunch of other things like birth certificates, passports etc for proof of citizenship, paystubs and letters from both our employers confirming salaries etc.

Our Comcast, and phone bill are only in my name since my work is paying for it. My car is in my name only since the lease is almost up and it would have been a pain to change ownership to include her name as well just for 3 months. Also, her drivers license is our current address in Baltimore, MD while I still have my old license in Washington state (which I am legally allowed to keep for many reasons. I have a "visiting resident permit"). Are these going to cause problems?

Also my wife (the USC) changed her name on many things like her SSN and driving license, but we didnt change it on her US passport yet. We didn't want the passport number to change in the middle of the process of immigration for me since her passport is her main proof of US citizenship. We plan to do this immediately after I get my GC. Is this going to be a problem?

Thanks everyone. Wish us luck.

That's plenty. Good luck, but I doubt you will need it. :)

So long as you have her birth certificate and marriage certificate, you won't need to worry about change of name stuff.

Thanks Brad. Congratulations on your interview finally by the way.

One further question, does anyone know if it is OK to take a bag or backpack in to the interview location? We have a fair bit of documentation to take with us, and a bag might make things easier. I assume stuff like cell phones are a strict no-no right? Thanks

Thank you. We have about 5 different file folders and a couple of photo albums to take with us. So should be interested walking the 10 blocks from home to the office.

backpack is not allowed. a small purse is okay. calculators, keyless entry car keys, usb keys, automatic car starters, are all not allowed. you can take in a file folder.
