Planning ahead (and hoping for the best) Just wondering if after my husband arrives to US (CR1) can we travel outside de US right away??

We'd love to go back to the Dominican Republic in our first anniversary (March 5th) has anyone with done it?

Yes :yes: he can travel abroad right away, the officer at POE will stamp passport with I-551 stamp, this makes the passport a temp Green-Card allowing work and travel abroad.

The I-551 stamp is good for 12 months after entry on the CR-1, within that time you should receive the actual green-card, after that you need to carry and use the card to re-enter from trips abroad.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.
