Hey we were wondering what would be the best to do in respect with out of state moves.

We sent our AOS package Dec. 22 to Chicago barely, and are thinking of moving within

Arizona (where we filed) or out of state like Texas. However, if the consequences of moving out of state

is case transfers and delayed aprovals maybe we should sit tight in the state we filed near Phoenix the field office. Does

anyone know how risky it is to move to another state once you mailed in your AOS?

Thanks Guys :help:

Its hit or miss really, but if you follow up repeatedly with them, you should do ok.

When you move, make sure to send in BOTH the AR-11 and the I-865 notice of address change forms. Send them to the appropriate offices as noted in their respective instructions, and also send photocopies to district offices and/or service centres that would need it. ie: if your move will take you to a new district so that your AOS interview would take place in a different office, send each district office a copy of both forms (the old and the new one). And then follow-up by phone and Infopass appointment a few weeks later (I'd say no later than 4 weeks).

And of course, have your mail forwarded from the post office to your new address, you can do that at your current post office, or via the USPS website for a nominal fee.
