After all that waiting, my fiancee had to move. She has been living temporarily in Canada for 2 years. I filed for K1 in May and finally got approved and the NVC has now forwarded our documents to the US Consulate in Canada. But now, my fiancee had to move back to her country. How can I transfer the documents from Canada to the new consulate? Does anyone know which form to fill out? Will we go back to square one in waiting for her interview or will it just be a continuation of the wait? Our approval notice is only valid til 01/25/08. Will this deadline affect our transfer? I appreciate all your comments. :help:

first which one of the consulate, montreal or vancouver? then what is ur fiancee status in canada and why is she moving when the journey is almost ended? has her status expire in canada? i guess the moves u can make now is to contact the particular embassy in canada and explain the reason of her moving but must be good reason, then she can go to the us embassy in her home country where she is moving to and explain her situation, cos i read about some folks here who tranfered their case from montreal to ireland cos he was on visitor visa here. so contact the embassy in canada and us embassy in her home country

Attention Immigrant Visa Unit

To whom it may concern:

This letter is meant as a request to transfer an open case for I-129F Alien Fiance from the US Embassy in Sofia Bulgaria, to your embassy in Bucharest, Romania. This is because my fiance will be graduating from her college in Bulgaria, and returning home to [address], Moldova in such time that it will not allow her to complete the visa process in Bulgaria. She has not yet applied for the visa at the Sofia embassy, and we wish to have the case transferred, and handled in Bucharest due to her moving home following graduation.

Here are the case details:

NVC Case # SOF-2007-XXX-XXX

Beneficiary: XXX XXX

DOB: xx/xx/xxxx

Petitioner: XXX XXX

DOB: xx/xx/xxxx

SSN: XXX-XX-XXXX

Her Current address at college is:

Address, room #

City ZIP Code

Bulgaria

Phone # XXX XXX XXX XXX

After her coming graduation, she will return to her home in Moldova:

Address

City, Zip Code

Republic of Moldova

Phone #: XXX-XXX-XX-XXX

I appreciate your time, and look forward to the case proceeding at your office.

Any questions please don't hesitate to contact either myself, or my fiance.

Sincerely,

Signature

City, Zip Code, USA

Phone Number XXX XXX XXXX

After receiving this request, the embassy in Romania contacted the embassy in Bulgaria and had our case transfered. If, however, you run out of time with your NOA2 there is a form that would request an extension for 4 more months from the embassy.

I really hope this will help

Thank you for your comments. She is in Canada to accompany her immigrant mother but has now exceeded her visitor status. So sending a letter to the Vancouver consulate is ok? There is no actual form to fill out for transferring the application to another embassy or consulate? How about the extension? Where can we get it?

Mike never filed an official form. He just wrote what I presented above and faxed it to the new embassy. The new embassy then requested the documents from the previous embassy and the case is processed in the new location.

The following is the link for NOA2 extension request: I-797C Extention

Again...there is no official form
