Event Description

Embassy Review : I am the petitioner and we're applying for a K-1 visa. I live in the Philippines so I attended the interview with my fiancee. Our interview was March 25, 2015 at 7:30 AM. We had a full breakfast and walked to the US embassy since our hotel was close. We arrived at the embassy just before 7 AM and the line for K-1 was the longest. But the line went quickly and after we gave the appointment letter inside the embassy we were told to wait outside. They give you a number but the number board that day was broken. So after two hours of waiting outside they called our number and we had to line up. With the number board broken the process was for us to wait in line(I think that may have made the interview go quicker). Anyway, we waited inside the embassy and my fiancee went to the first window. It was for finger printing and the other window for the oath taking. Then we waited in the chairs in order. This next window was the Filipino CO. She asked for all the documents-NBI, cemar(with annotation that it was annulled), BC, etc. She was very nice and only asked a couple questions. She only asked me if I was the petitioner. The next window was the American CO and she was very nice. In fact, she asked me all the questions except one. She never asked for any additional documents like I-134. Then she said everything looks good. It took maybe five minutes. And I asked her if we were approved and she said yes, but it needs to past through security. We were so happy! Then the last window was the releasing. The man there said wait for the delivery of your passport. javascript:emoticon('')

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
