They will tell you it takes 2 business days to get your visa. Don't believe them.It takes 3 days just to print it and another 2 to get to you via DHL.(working days). The only reason I got mine so fast was because I kept calling them asking for expedite and then I went to pick it up from the central dhl office the very next date after issuance.

Biometrics Taken : Yes

Comments : The airport is different than others. You have to go trough baggage claim twice!!!. After you arrive you go trough passport control. The officer takes your passport and the packet from the embassy put it in a plastic folder and ask for another officer to come and escort you to a office where they will review your documents. Don't expect them to be fast. They are not in any hurry. After waiting probably 40min in this office then proceeded to get my suitcases. You need to drop them again at a lane and get trough a security check for your hand luggage. Then you show your customs form to a guy. I bought some things from duty free and they pulled me out for additional luggage checks (this was while i was with my suitcases). After that you go on a train to baggage claim and hope your luggage is there. Mine wasn't. I asked the lady from the airline and she said it might take 1-1.5 hours to get it!!!! Mine was out in 30 min (thank god). The whole experience took 3 hours after landing. Be prepared for some waiting. GOOD LUCK

Consulate Review: Bulgaria
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : April 27, 2009
Embassy Review : Everything was great. The interview was at 9.30am so at that time we got in line to get in the cosulate. Paid the fee, then a bulgarian guy announced my name and requested all the documents, asked me a few question and told me i should wait a little for the interview. I was interviewed by a lady, very nice very proffesional. They only asked for the photos and the financial documentation for the Affidavit. The questions were:
- How did you meet? (a little details about that)
- How many times i was there and he was here?
- Where do we plan to live?
- What is he working?
- Is he living alone?
- What do the parents think about our marriage?
Then she give me a badge with the american flag, said they will send me the passport via DHL and i should have it by the end of the week. She said: We have everything we need, have a good trip. That was all. I had a very large bag with proof of relationship, they didn't ask me for any of them. Good luck to everyone. Just an advice. Don't go too early. You will have to wait on the othere side of the street. No cafe or any kind of place to sit and rest.
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
