Comments : Our interview was very quick & easy. The USCIS officer asked my husband the EXACT QUESTIONS that were answered in the original forms we submitted. (She took about 3 minutes with that.) Other than that, she just basically made sure all our documents were submitted with our original application/packet. Then she asked for new copies of my husband's passport, rent receipts & lease, bank statement, & proof of insurance (medical/dental). Everything she asked for had to show proof that we had JOINT ACCOUNTS. After that, she asked if we had any pictures from our wedding ceremony & reception. We showed her our wedding album (professional pics) & our personal family album, which had pics we had taken ourselves. After she flipped through the pics, she asked if she could borrow our wedding album (professional pics) to make copies of 2 or 3 pictures. Then that was it! Once the interview was done, the officer told us we were approved & gave my husband a paper to sign. Then she gave us the bottom half of the paper to keep for our records. The little white paper had information about when & how to renew his Green Card in two years. Then she told us we would receive his Green Card in the mail.

The OVERALL INTERVIEW took about 10 minutes, but it was mainly to collect paperwork from us. The OVERALL EXPERIENCE was okay. The officer wasn't very friendly at all, but thank God for EVERYTHING anyway! =o) I guess she was just supposed to give off that "tough" image, but I'm sure she's a nice person outside of work. =o) You could tell that she was just trying to do her job.

Consulate Review: Egypt
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : January 16, 2010
Embassy Review : Our interview went really well, thank God! The consular officer was VERY nice! We were in & out of the interview within 5 minutes! She only asked us a couple of questions:
~When/how did you meet?
~When did you purpose?
~How many times has your fiance been to Egypt?
~When were the dates of her visit?
~Have you met each other's family?
~How do both of your families feel about your relationship?

As my fiance answered each question, she typed his responses into her computer. Throughout the entire interview, she was laughing & joking around with us. We had TONS of supporting evidence (bonafides), but she said our packet was perfect & that she had enough. She told us she could really see & feel how happy we were together. She kept my fiance's passport & told us we'd receive his passport along with his visa within a few weeks and sure enough... WE DID!!! Everyone's interview experience is different in Cairo, but thank God our's went really well! I think it helped A LOT that I was with my fiance at the actual interview. Overall experience... A-! (The minus was only because they lost our CIB receipt, but we sent it in the very next day & everything was just fine!)
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
