US Entry : 2008-12-08
Marriage : 2008-12-18
Comments : Served 221(g) at interview on 10/07/08 requesting many additional documents including more relationship proof, supporting letters from parents, 5 years of voters lists and voter ID card for fiance. Submitted all that was requested and more on 10/24/08. Received e-mail on 11/03 saying that visa had been granted on 10/31. Visa arrived on 11/05 and was okay, but the envelope to be opened at the POE had the wrong last name written on it. This was solved quickly with another trip to the consulate.

Comments : Was taken into a room and interviewed (with the same types of questions as those asked in India) and had his luggage thoroughly searched, but the interviewer was much less rude than the man at the consulate in Delhi and everything was finished fairly speedily.

Comments : Lots of screw-ups on their part including sending the first RFE to our old address, mixing our medical file up with someone else's, and then demanding the full exam be repeated even though he came on a K-1 and already had the blood work and TB test. In the end though, we played their game and got our approval.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
