Harassment Level : 0
Comments : Los Angeles was great. My fiancee and I waited in the US and Perm. Resident line. We walked up to the Officer directly. She was first. The officer reviewed the packet, asked her some questions, took her fingerprints and photo. After the photo, Carol asked him if it was a good picture. We got him to crack a smile and he said it's a great picture! I even pitched in a remark saying it was a great photo, even after traveling for the past 20+ hours! He stamped her passport and attached the I-94 without any harrasment. That was it, no other interviews took place after that!

Consulate Review: Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : February 28, 2008
Embassy Review : The interview went really well. We were the first to arrive (we got there at 6:30 am) and waited outside until they opened at 7:45- 8:00. Getting early paid off since we went through the check-in process and interview first. After we received approval (9:30 am), we went to the courier to arrange to have the passport and visa delivered at our hotel in Rio. The visa was delivered that Friday and we left Brazil the following Monday. Everyone at the US consulate was very kind and courteous. Make sure that you have all of your documents in order and it will be a breeze!
Rating : Very Good

Embassy Review : Interview was great. The officer was friendly. We told our story on how we met, showed some documents with both of our names (bank accounts, property taxes/deed, medical insurance), and that was pretty much it! My wife got her Green Card in 15 days. The only negative part was that the officer would only let my wife take her first name and my last name; no middle name allowed on her Green Card. The only way to have a middle name would be for my wife to apply for US Citizenship.
Harassment Level : Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
