Consulate Review: Islamabad, Pakistan
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : April 14, 2008
Embassy Review : I went with my fiance for the interview. Here is what happened in chronological order:
1) Went to the bus stop for embassy at 5:35am
2) We were 5th in line
3) Went to the Embassy with my Fiance and they let me in by just showing my passport
4) They took my wife's fingerprint
5) They took $131 from my wife
6) 2nd person called us and took passport and medical report
7) 3rd person (US Consular) called us and she asked me following questions as petitioner:
- Where I live? Where I work? How long I have been in US? How long I have been working? What is my current position?
8) Then she asked me to go and take a seat while she asked my fiance some questions:
- Questions asked were where did the the engagment take place? Provide proof? How long she has known me? Then she complimented my fiance on the pictures and then asked my fiance to call me
9) When I got to the window, she said that the visa is approved by giving me a blue slip that the case is going under AP and should hear back soon. She saw our sad face but insisted that this has to go to AP but not to worry and they will call for the passport soon.

Over all the experience was okay, we were there at embassy at 5:35am and left at about 11:45am
Rating : Moderate

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
