Officer familiar with k1 process, very friendly, opened the envelope and didn't ask anything. Reviewed all documents and said he just needed to make sure that my medical record was there. Took me and my kids to a second officer who asked the wedding date, I answered and he said "I'm sure you already know but I have to remind you the K1 rule: You have 90 days to get married! Congratulations, welcome to United States"

Event Description
Review Date : October 15, 2018
Embassy Review : K1/K2 interview - Fiance was present

Interview was scheduled for 7:20am.
An agent check all documents required then we wait until the officer call our name. We (me, my 2 children and my fiancé) were called at 8:30am and the officer asked which language we communicate, I said Portuguese and English but mostly English. "Ok, so your interview will be in English."
*So... Daniela tell me how did you meet - answer
*You two work for the same company? What do you do? What about him?
*I see it's your second marriage. Looking at him... you too! Let me check if a have your divorce decree here (it was attached to initial petition, so ok!)
*Then he asked him: when did you divorce? Do you have kids? How old are they? Do they live with you? What are the plans for the wedding? Where are you going to live?
*Daniela have you ever been to US? Have you ever overstay with your tourist visa?
*Then he told my kids: "you are K1 dependents and you can not get married during this process or your visa will be cancelled and you will be denied in US". Please sign...

Then he got a big stamp and almost stamped my old visa.
"You will receive a fiancee visa and... wait! I won't cancel your tourist visa because you may want to use it before you travel as K1. Your visa was approved."
Rating : Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.

** Not all cases are transfered
