Member Reviews:

Consulate Review: Tokyo, Japan
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : October 1, 2018
Embassy Review : My fiancee arrived at her interview at 10:30 as scheduled the morning that Typhoon Trami had just finished passing Tokyo at 4:30 in the morning. We were praying that the typhoon wouldn't cause a cancellation of appointments as this one took 7 weeks to get. The whole thing only took an hour with about 10 minutes with the interviewer.

The questions were (in no particular order):
How old are your fiance's adult children?
What is your fiance's favorite hobby?
When did he propose?
When did we meet?
When did he leave Japan? (I was on a business assignment and was a Japan resident 2 times)
What does he do for a living?
The interviewer asked to see some pictures of us together. She was shown several that were printed out. The interviewer asked to see more so my fiancee showed her about 10 more on her phone that I had just sent her the day before so she could show a friend she visited in Tokyo (that was fortunate that I sent them as she had moved all the photos from her phone to a USB to free up storage space). Once the interviewer saw the photos from many different trips she was satisfied.

There may have been a few more but these are the ones she passed along to me.

We were satisfied with the result as we were APPROVED!

Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
