Consulate Review: New Delhi, India
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : November 17, 2015
Embassy Review : The Interview was fairly simple and easy. The CO was a small haired Indian looking lady who looked very serious and didn't reply to my good afternoon. The very first question she asked me was about the Domestic Violence Handout they gave me before the Interview and what does it mean and what information is in it.Then she asked me about Wedding Plans and I explained her and was about to open my File Folder which I kept on the counter and which had almost 700 pages of documents including Wedding Plans like Clubhouse Booking Receipt,Flower Receipt,Wedding Invitation Card,Catering Menus etc.It also had proof of relationship like Wats App chat records and Snapshots,Skype chat records and Screen Shots,Skype Snap Shots of my fiancee talking to my Parents separately on cam etc.I also included I 129f Petition copy and the pics that we sent along with I129f and the pics which we didn't send including pics with my Mom n Dad and with my sister, brother in law, nephew and my friends and relative. It also had pics with her mom and her friends. The package also included chat record of me with her mom and the proof of receipts of gifts we exchanged and love letters we wrote during 7 years of our online relationship. So i made a huge file folder of all this BUT when I touched my folder to show her my wedding plans the Consulate Officer told me "No DON'T TOUCH IT"javascript:emoticon('').My heart sank and I thought she will deny my Visa as we didn't have a Ring Ceremony, which was one of the red flag in our petition. The second and the biggest red flag was that we met online. Please note we met three times in real life(two times I visited her and one time she visited India to meet my family),also please note I worked in the United States on a Cruise Ship company for like 9 years before we applied for the Visa.
After Wedding Plans she asked me "who will visit for our wedding in the USA from India"? and I told her that my parents and close family members will be visiting. She typed something in the computer for a while and I was quite sure by her looks and facial expressions that a Blue or White paper will be given to me but to my surprise the golden words came out from her mouth"congratulations, your visa has been approved"I couldn't believe it but then she handed me the yellow paper and I controlled my emotions and thanked her and left.javascript:emoticon('') All the best to everyone who will be having Interviews and I hope my review will help many fellow members.
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
