Embassy Review : My interview was on the 21st of september at 8:45AM.

First of all, let me tell you that if you are ready and have done your research, you will be fine. I was expecting so much worse and it really was a breeze.

The embassy is about an 8 minute walk from the Medisys clinic btw, if that's where you are doing your medical exam. Medisys opens at 7AM so I decided to go pick up my result at around 7:40. Took less than a minute and I had it in my hands and I walked to the embassy. It was easy to find as some people were already queuing up. When you're waiting outside, get your D-160 and your passport out because the security guard will ask to see it and you will give it to the first person you meet inside.

After maybe 10 minutes I was let inside and a lady highlighted my name on a piece of paper and gave me a laminated sheet with number 11 on it. I went through security, left my phone and earphones with them. Do bring your phone with you, that process literally took 10 seconds and was easy. By the way, I brought my folder and my wallet in a plastic bag because I wasn't sure if I could bring my purse, but I did see a few women with quite large purses.

I was told to go to the 19th floor and sit in the waiting room. While I was waiting I saw 2 girls come out with big smiles because they were approved

On the laminated sheet with your number you will see the order in which you need to organise the stuff they want to see. So I did that while waiting.

I think I waited about 25 minutes and I was called to window number 2. A guy asked for all my papers, took fingerprints and told me to go back to the waiting area. That part took about 10 minutes.

15 minutes later, I was called to window number 8 where a young man greeted me and apologised for the wait. He was super nice and reassured me it was all gonna be over soon. I had to swear to tell the truth, then he asked what our wedding plans are. I told him we were going to do a small intimate wedding as we don't have the money for our dream wedding yet, but that we would do a bigger one later with family and friends. He smiled and said he totally gets it, so don't be afraid to tell the truth if you're in the same situation.

He also asked me how we met and what my fiance does for a living. That's it! He then gave me the famous Welcome to America paper and told me I would get my passport back over the next 2 weeks. I walked out and went back to get my phone.

At 9:45 I was outside texting my fiance. I might've been lucky, but the interview truly wasn't the worst part of it all.

My one tip is to make sure you have all the papers you need and have photocopies of everything. I wasn't asked for anything besides what was listed on the checklist in packet 3.

Good luck! Don't stress (for real)

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
