Event Description

Embassy Review : I had all my docs prepared apart from my medical (which was to be done the day after).

I hovered around the lifts from 7am and was last in the door of be lift, so first out. Second in line altogether. A fairly fast screening process. I am a diabetic and wear an insulin pump and they said I should be carrying a doctor letter whenever I go? No! But of course I was allowed in.

After security and document checking, sent to L59 in the fastest lift I've ever been in.

Another check behind the main door (warning: it's heavy!) and straight in. Got my number. 002!

Called up, had documents checked, asked about my medical and that was OK. Told to sit down after giving prints.

About 10 mins later called for my interview. Here goes! I had a lovely young bloke, probably early 30s. We smiled and had a bit of chit chat as his computer was loading.

He swing Into the questions:
"How did you meet?"
"Have you been visiting since she went back to the U.S.?"
"How did you get engaged?" (After this he kind of relaxed and knew it was genuine)
"What does she do for work?"
"What do you do for work?"
"Any children?" (I answered "not that I know about" and he actually smiled!)

He went through my documents, and I offered all my relationship proof. "That's ok, don't need it."
(What!? I thought?? I spent HOURS putting this together lol!)

He said "once we receive your medical we will make a decision. This form (221g yellow) just says to mail your passport to us and that your medical is missing"
I got cheeky because I couldn't wait any longer..
"Is everything in order?"
"Everything looks fine!"

And I left! Tears started to well up and I called my fiancée as soon as I got to G.

Here we were 15,000km apart both crying at the news.

Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
