Consulate Review: Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : February 16, 2007
Embassy Review : We were in and out in less than 2 hours. We were 4th to be called to hand in our documents in order, and 2nd or 3rd (I can't remember) to called for the interview. We didn't wait long for either. The guy who interviewed us would be called "antipatico." He wasn't like so friendly, but he wasn't mean. He only asked where and when we met, and why we got married so quickly. He very quickly glazed over the papers, and then handed us a "green card," a green index card with a date on it to pick up the visa. They didn't even look to see if we had all the proper documents. We were missing a state police certificate from within the last 5 years time period....I don't know if they even cared. But we for sure didn't bring it up.

We arrived at 2:30pm on the following business day, Monday Feb 12. Once 3pm came, we only waited like 10 min before they called us in to pick up the visa!!! It was the happiest, most emotional time of my life.
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
