Port of Entry Review
Event Date
Port of Entry : Chicago
POE Date : 2015-02-20 Submit Review
Got EAD Stamp :
Biometrics Taken : Yes
Harassment Level : 0
Comments : No one realy tells you what is happening, they just lead you off to a room full of people and was told to wait. I waited for over 1 hr when my names was called and documents were given back to me. I was then told to go to another counter where I waited again and watched a couple of people get harassed. One person was harassed because he was looking at an officer (not kidding). The officer starts yelling in his face "why are you looking at me? Answer me! Why are you looking at me? You should be looking forward and more worried whether or not you are getting into this country". I was shocked to see this. The other person was yelled at because he needed to go to the bathroom and the officer, a different one this time, starts yelling at him "you get back in line, you get in line and you stay there". He said he had to go to the bathroom to which she replied "I don't care, this is not a mall, you stay in line". The port of entry was a completely intimidating experience.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
