Comments : The interview was super easy, although time consuming and costly. My medical was in Surrey a bit of a distance from the interview in Vancouver. As there must be a day between the medical and the interview to get your results, and interviews are only scheduled for certain days, I didnt have a choice but to be in vancouver for 6 days over a weekend.

The medical was very easy. I brought my immunization proof, passport photos, the fee. As soon the doctor knew I was a Canadian born with all my immunizations, he went through a checklist so quickly and checked off that I was ok even before I answered. THen I took a cab (abotu 5-10mins away) to the chest scan and blood test. I had to wait a little bit for the blood test, but all in all it did not take to long.

After the weekend, as I was staying in Vancouver, I took the train (to save some money) from downtown to surrey then a cab to the doctors office.

The next day I walked to the interview. Having read some things online, I was nervous and had brought a lot of paperwork to the interview including our original petition and ongoing evidence. I got to the interview about 20 mins early. You check in, and go through initial security, where they look through all your things take things you cant bring in --ie cellphone. Contrary to other reports, you are allowed to bring a small purse, they have a small box that it must fit into to be allowed in. After initial scanning I stood in line outside for about an hour.
I was then escorted into another security area where you go through a scanner and they literally look through everything you have. It was much more intense than airport security. I was then escorted by an armed officer up the elevator to a waiting room. I immediately went up to the counter and gave them only the things listed on the instructions they sent. Then I sat and waited for another hour. When I did get called again for the interview (at a counter, your standing on the other side of a glass) the interview lasted about 2 minutes. Questions were simple (where did you meet, how often do you see each other, have you met his parents-where do they live) , has he met yours. He did not ask me for any additional information. He then told me I was approved and I dropped off my passport at the original check in window.

I received my passport with visa about a week later.

All in all very easy process!

Comments : Really easy process. Drove from Alberta to Montana, was at the border for about 1 hour. However, the agent starting processing me as the wrong visa so it took longer than it probably should have been. I was happy with it though as I thought it would take much longer. I was surprised that the officer did not look at anything in the vehicle, nor was I asked to declare anything. An officer looked at the VIN number of my vehicle and that is about it. I had the sealed package sent by USCIS, my passport and documents for my vehicle. It was not nearly as stressful as I thought it would be.

Comments : Very easy interview. When you go to the office, you cannot have cellphones or food and go through a security screening. we were asked to wait in the seating area and the officer came through a set of doors and called our name. The officer did not ask anything out of the ordinary. We were asked to repeat the information we gave on the original application. I was asked questions similar to that of the DS-160. Together they asked Things like where we lived, where we met, our parents names. The officer did NOT ask for any of the documents listed on the appointment notice. I even asked if she wanted to see any of it, as I spent some time putting it together, but she declined. We were approved for my greencard on the spot. She gave us a letter and informed us that the card might take 2-3 months to arrive as they were back logged.

I should note that our original interview date was on the 21. We went into the office twice by making an appointment with the INFOPASS tool (this is an amazing tool which I wish we knew about earlier. Using it you are able to an appointment to speak with an immigration officer who can answer your questions). we originally had questions about how to reschedule our interview as my husband started training across country on the actual date of our interview. At the first appointment the officer told us she may be able to get us in the week before our interview and to wait for her phone call. She did not call us that week (although, she only said it MAY be possible so we understood) so we went in again to see our options. When we explained our situation to the new officer she went to speak with a supervisor and we were told that we were lucky and they would be able to interview us that day. I dont know if this is a common occurrence, but thought I would share this experience if someone was in a similar situation.

The officers at the phoenix office are very kind and helpful. Of the 4 times I was in the building, all were a great experience.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
