Consulate Review: Mumbai, India
Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : November 5, 2014
Embassy Review : Case: Spouse + Step Child.

Medical and Biometrics - completed in Chennai

Interview:
- Reached Mumbai a day before interview date and relaxed (tried!!) for the rest of the evening.

- Got up early (rather couldn't sleep) at 5 AM... was at embassy by 6:45 AM

- Was told to stand in Immigrant visa line.

- At entrance, they checked the NVC appointment letter and asked if we have the PCC

- Inside the embassy, one of the officers looked at the papers and told it in the order the NVC interview letter had listed.

- The interview by CO itself was very simple. Asked few basic questions about petitioner. CO asked why petitioner was got remarried so soon from the end of his last marriage (for personal reason I will withhold the answer). Then CO (smilingly) told my step son that it will be nice if knows about US sports such as baseball, basket ball and football. Apart from this everything went on smoothly.

- Last thing CO told was that visa is approved and each member should pay the GC fees before leaving to US.
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.

** Not all cases are transfered
