Local US CIS Office Review: Honolulu HI

Event Description
Review Date : June 26, 2013
Embassy Review : Haven't seen an interview for AOS at Honolulu in a while so I thought I would post ours:

There was Zero Harassment!! The IO was nice, polite and friendly.. put us at ease and we certainly didn't feel like we were sitting the hot seat. There was only a couple of people in the waiting area... mostly empty. All in all, the actually interview took 35 minutes. I over prepared (yeah, I'm on of those people.. hehe) But for God sake don't be under prepared!!!!

This is our interview questions:
Where did you meet? (Not in person, but your very, very first contact i.e. e-mail unless you met in person the first time, we met on cherry Blossoms)
Who contacted who first (if it was dating sight?
Know your first date!!!!
Know everything about when you two proposed.
Who asked who first to get married?
Where were you when he proposed?
Who did you tell after?

Did you exchange wedding rings?
Was your husband with you when you bought them?
Where did you buy them?

Where was the wedding?
Did either of your you parents attend the wedding?(ours didn't because we live in Hawaii)
IT'S IMPORTANT THAT BOTH PARENTS KNOW YOU WERE MARRIED... if you didn't meet them yet ... please at least talk to them over the phone before you go to your AOS interview.. I kknow some people are really shy..

Did you have a reception?
Where was the reception?
How many people attended the reception?

Did you meet each other parents?

Know why you LOVE each other!!!!
Our IO asked my wife " why do you love him?" then she asked me, "Why do love you love her?"

Then she asked what do you two do together? (Movies, beach, dinner ect.)

Bring Pictures! She looked at every picture we had. We had two photo albums of maybe 250 + pictures(One album of just the wedding and reception, another album of when we met in person for the first time and her time since she's been in the USA)

Then she asked for Commingling of Assets-- (She didn't want to physically see the documents, she just wrote down what I said.. she took my word for it.. but I had everything ready just in case she wanted to see... every IO is different they could have easily asked to see the documents.. so bring them!!)
-joint lease (we didn't have one because we rent from a friend
-Joint medical
-Join life insurance
-Joint BANK Checking & Savings (IMPORTANT)
-Joint utility bills (Phone, gas, )
-joint gym membership
-joint vehicle ownership
-join car insurance

Then we were APPROVED!

Harassment Level : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.

** Not all cases are transfered
