I requested a K-3 visa, but my I-130 was approved so quickly in about two weeks, thus my following I-129F submitted got left behind, it was not approved for five months. Furthermore as a consequence USCIS issued two case numbers and two seperate visa classes: CR1 and K-3. The embassy representative in Lima, Peru called my wife on 2005-7-11 and stated that are two visas (CR1 and K-3) approved for her travel. She then asked my wife which one did she want processed? Since we are already married--the embassy said they would discard the K-3 (I-129F), and process the CR1 (I-130) instead. Today (5 Sept) my wife received her visa from DHL.

Port of Entry : Atlanta
POE Date : 2005-09-26
Got EAD Stamp : No
Biometrics Taken : Yes
Harassment Level : 0
Comments : Arrived at 8 am both my wife and I went through the Non-USC line. My passport was processed then my wife's stuff was collected and placed in a green folder we were told to go to the green door. There her index finger prints were taken. We waited about 10 minutes for a spanish interpreter. And then we were in and out of there within 20 minutes or so. Very easy.

Comments : 2007-07-18 Check for I-751 Fee cashed. The I-751 was sent to the Texas Service Center, however, the NOA states that "This case is at our CALIFORNIA SERVICE CENTER location."

2007-08-24 Completed Biometric appointment at what could be regarded as a hand-me-down light industrial warehouse, luckily the numerous faces from all parts of the world and then huge letters spelling IMMIGRATION painted on the parking lot drive way give you pretty indication your in the right place. Only the Green Card recipient can enter the facility without purse, bags, cameras, cell phones etc. Total time inside the ASC was about 45 minutes.

2007-09-04, production of new green card ordered. Need to allow 30 days for the new card to be mailed.

2007-09-05, Green Card mailed.

2007-09-10, Green Card arrived.

Embassy Review : The staff were courteous. The assisted us at the line on the street, through security, to the visa waiting lounge and while waiting. Spanish was spoken by all. The interview PA system was not very clear sometimes, but we could understand the consular nonetheless. We were given instructions clearly in english and in spanish at times. We did not have to wait long (15 minutes for first call, 1 hour for second call, and then less then 5 for final call).

Only problem is they could of had better instructions in the interview packet that was sent out to my wife. Other than that I give it 4 out of 5. Nobody is perfect.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
