Consulate Review: Manila, Philippines
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : July 19, 2011
Embassy Review : The process is pretty much the same with other applicants so I won't elaborate them further. I arrived at the embassy at 6:00AM and there were many people already. But it's okay because it doesn't matter just make sure you arrive there before your scheduled appointment.

All these times of getting nervous was useless. Lol So relax and just make sure your papers are COMPLETE.

7:00AM Finger scanning at Window 40
7:15AM First interview with a Male Prescreener (he's nice)

The prescreener asked me these questions:
1. Ano pangalan mo?
2. Sino nag petition sayo?
3. Ano mo sya?
4. Kelan huling beses na nagkita kayo?
5. May pictures ka? (Then I showed him our pictures and other evidences compiled in a clearbook)
He also took my...
-Passport
-Birth Cert
-NBI
-CENOMAR
-I-134
-2010 ITR and W-2

8:15AM Interview with an American Consul (A middle aged woman with curly blonde hair. Based on previous reviews she's the one I was really hoping to be my consul. She's very nice.)
1. Hi! How are you? Hold on let me finish this first.
2. How are you this morning?
3. Do you swear to tell the truth...
4. Who petitioned you?
5. Were you married? Have kids? What about him? (NO NONE NADA)
6. When did you meet? How?
7. When did you meet personally?
Oh! So you met the in-laws!
8. How are they? Did you like them? Great! (blahblah)
9. Do you have pictures to show me? There are the in laws!
10. Do you have wedding plans already? (I elaborated our wedding plans)
11. Your english is very good! (Thank you)
12. Do you plan to work there? (Yes, in the future)

Okay your visa is approved. Please take a seat and wait for your name to be called. (She gave a big smile)

8:40AM Final instructions given in window 70something (this is where the guy tells applicants if they lack documents. As for me he asked:
1. Are you .....?
2. Who is ....? (I answered "My Fiance")
3. "Okay Ma'am your visa is approved"

8:45AM I submitted my 2GO slip for my visa delivery.

It was very fast. My seatmates were amazed with how fast I was. Probably because they found my papers right away.

Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.

** Not all cases are transfered
