Nov, 2012 - Vika sees my profile online and writes me a very sweet e-mail introducing herself; I feel an instant connection, and our journey begins!
Nov 2012 - Feb 2013 - Vika and I get to know each other through Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, Valentine's Day, and Women's Day - exchanging lots of emails, photos, gifts, cards, flowers, and talking via Skype and SMS. During this time I come to realize that Vika is one in a million and I begin to suggest that we meet in person.
21 Mar, 2013 - I begin my journey to Kiev for our first in-person meeting, finally landing in Kiev at the start of a record snowfall.
23 Mar, 2013 - Vika arrives in Kiev by train and we spend 3 magical days getting to know each other and trudging through deep snow as we explore Kiev together.
10 May, 2013 - Vika and I meet in Moscow for an 11 day river cruise to St. Petersburg and have the time of our lives together! I have no doubts now.
24 May, 2013 - Shortly after returning from Russia, we both agree we want to be together and we dive into learning everything we can about the K-1 Visa process.
14 June, 2013 - After a couple weeks of gathering and filling out paperwork, signing things and receiving papers sent by Vika from Ukraine, I'm finally ready to submit our I-129F petition. I overnight it to the Dallas, TX drop box.
17 June, 2013 - Our petition is received by the USCIS (NOA-1 Received Date).
19 June, 2013 - NOA-1 Notice Date. I'm notified by SMS and e-mail of NOA-1.
21 June, 2013 - USCIS case status updated. Don't know what this means, but they posted: "On June 21, 2013, your Alien Registration Number was changed relating to your I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)."
