I-130 F2A - Vermont Service Center - history of processing times?

Filed: Timeline

We have a priority date of January 3rd 2014. After 5 month line I gave them a call and they didn't even bother to transfer me to a Tier 2. Gave me the date 25 September 2013 is where they are at now.

Now I checked online and got to the same date on uscis site:

https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/processTimesDisplayInit.do

I-130 Petition for Alien Relative Permanent resident filling for a spouse or child under 21 September 25, 2013

But although the page was updated on June 3rd the page specifically says "Field Office Processing Dates for Vermont Service Center as of: April 30, 2014". That's something the agent didn't mention on the call.

Is there any website to see their previous updates so that I can make some sense on how fast they are? Right now it feels like they simply stopped the clock right before October 2013 fiscal year... All I was able to find was pages that are a copy of what is in that link.

Not sure what Field office has to do with your status. If you filed F2A and you were assigned the VSC then be prepared to wait. This is a site that tracks all the past processing times for VSC.

I see that this post is old, but I will answer anyway.

OP: If you are under F2A category, don't count on your petition being looked for about another year. Your PD date is from this year and the current PD is for FEB 2013.

I'm not sure about other service centers, but VSC, in my experience and from what I've been told, they don't process preference based petitions until they are close to the PD date or they have cleared most of their backlogs for the other petitions.

This is because they have to give priority to immediate relatives of USC's who don't have to wait for a visa to become available. They are doing it this way because there is no point in processing the petition early if it will just sit at the NVC.

Now if you become a USC in the interim, they will pull your petition and begin to process it. This is what I was told numerous times when I called to find out about the case for my cousin, my cousin's husband, my uncle, and another of my uncle's 3 kids. They are all at VSC and they are all preference based petitions.

This does not constitute legal advice.
