I want some advise, I have to submit the I-751 to remove my conditional resident status witch is due in April this year but my wife is on active duty with the army serving in Afghanistan and she will not return until September; How can I fill out this form if she is not here, do I need to send her the I-751 so she can sign it and return it back to me?

Does been in the army is considered to be employed with the U.S government or not? (question 10 on the form)

I will appreciate any help and assistance that anyone can provide.

thanks

My husband is deployed in Afghanistan too. Yes, your wife is employed with the government...and yes, you are gonna have to mail or email her the I-751 form, so she can sign it and send it back to you, plus if you want to expedite the process, she can also send an Expedite letter. Oh, she has to sign the cover letter as well. My husband sent the Expedite letter with our package and I got approved within 43 days even thought it was VSC which is really slow

I am sorry for being this ignorant but where can I get the Expedite Letter you talk about, or is that a letter that I have to do it myself, if so what should she put on the letter? Another question is that the package will be send to VSC (vermont service center) for the expedite process, do we have to pay extra for the expedite? and thanks for answering my other questions F@rsc@p3

No, you are not ignorant..I didn't know about the letter either...we called to the military line and they told us about it. Your wife or you can write the letter, I remember mine was really short..I will try to find it for you, so you can have an idea. You have to send the package to your Immigration Service Center depending on where you live...I sent it to VSC because I live in GA.

You don't have to pay any extra money, only the money for the I751 form plus biometrics.

You are very welcome. Let me see if I can get the letter and write down here for you...brb soon

Date

Dear USCIS Examiner:

Please expedite the inclosed form I-751 for my husband, YOUR NAME ON CAPS, Alien Registration Number (your A number). I am an active duty service member currently deployed in Afghanistan.

Your prompt attention to this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

Your wife name and signature

NOTE: you have to put this letter, your wife military orders, copy of your military ID's (yours and your wife) on top of your application.

I hope this helps...let me know if you have more questions..I know how it is to have to deal with all this stuff by yourself...It's really hard having your husband or wife deployed
