  1. Hello, I got my approval email over two weeks ago, and got another email over a week ago about the mailing of the approval notice, from CSC.

Just wondering, how long does it take to actually receive the green card after the email notifications? The reason is that we are moving in 2 weeks and don't want to lose it! It said 30 days on the notice but I am hoping not that long!

  2. Hi everyone, we filed 751 on 2/5/07 with CSC. Check was cashed but we have not received anything in the mail. We just bought a house in TX, and will move there at end of April. Shall I change the pending case address onlin at uscis.gov? Anyone with semilar experience changing service center in the middle of 751 process? Will I have to wait in line again at TSC? or my "priority" date is still 2/5/07 at new service center? How complicated would it be?

  3. I just realized i was looking at the old version (2005) of form which did not have photo requirements! also the $ was only 200 but the correct one is now 205

I also found that the new uscis website to be very user unfriendly - no link is working & you can't find stuff anywhere! when will they fix that???

has anyone had experience on change address while 751 is filed but pending???

  4. But this is the same way for people overseas - they have to file with the INS office before they move. What is the difference between moving overseas vs. out of state??

Only if the government is intelligent enough to provide a change address online for pending cases (I believe they could, but they would not do so)!! That will make more sense than an AR-11 which may never come into effect.

I will be so glad when this process is over!

  5. How about opening a P.O. box in CA, and have the post office forward the mail to the TX address? The post office now has a premium forwarding service which cost $10.40/week to forward all mails. It is kind of pricey but it might be the price to pay if we move in between application & receiving green card...

If i receive finger print notice, i may have to fly back to CA... costly!

what do you think of this idea, any one?

  6. Hi Everyone,

My husband and I will file I-751 in Feb 07 in California. We plan to move to Texas in April 07. I know that I will not receive the green card prior to moving to Texas. What shall I do with this process? Shall I mail an AR-11? Shall I re-file with Texas? I do not want to risk filing in Texas since I need to file prior to May 5, 2007, and I am not 100% we will be physically in Texas by then or not. So I file as early as possible in CA. But how shall I handle the process with the inter-state move??

Please advise, since this issue is making me worried a lot... I do not want my application/green card to be lost... Thanks everyone!

  7. Hi there, I have two more questions related to I-751:

    1. When are you supposed to schedule infopass to have a 1-year extension stamp on your passport? Is it after receiving the NOA? Do you schedule the appointment with the district office or the regional office, in my case, California processing center?

    2. I did not change my last name to my husband's two years ago. Now I want to change my last name. Do i just put my "new name" on FOrm I-751, page 1 & put "used name" on page 2? All our "evidence" documents are under my maiden name for these years, so i don't know whether it will complicate things...To be safe, shall I wait till applying for citizenship and then change my name? Please advise.

I love this forum. Everyone is great in lending a helping hand.
