  1. My wife was approved last week, so i am going to go and come back with her on our 1 year aniversary (July 9th). i have a question though. We want to have a wedding ceremony here. Does the Wedding Certificate that we recieved overseas count here? Or do we have to go to the Justice of the Peace and get married again to make it legal here? How does this work?

    Any help would appreciated.

    Thanks

  2. hi shawn, i send a request 2 days ago and they email me back saying the request is under review and they waiting for the petitioner to send the AOS and IV package, somebody told me they take about 2 to 3 week ...but another person told me , they wait to complete the case and then they send the request to the consulate so i dont know what to believe

    Thanks for the reply

When I called the NVC, they said my request has been sent to the consulate and they are waiting on there decision on the expedite request. I have already payed the NVC fees and they said to send all the forms and paperwork in just like if there was no expedite request.

So i guess i just wait and call again next week and see if something has changed.

  3. That sounds ridiculous..................request the expedite with the assistance of your Senator(s) or Congressman. If the US Govt can grant 55,000 emergency visa's for Haitian's, I don't see how they can not do it for someone in your wife's situation.

thanks for the vote of confidence. I will look into how to get this done tomorrow. i have already contacted my local congressman but they didnt do much for me during the USCIS process. lets hope i can convince them to help me a little more this time.

and I also think this site and help from all you guys is all oneyone needs to do this. The lawyers cant do anything!

i feel like they haven't helped me at all. I have done more work in trying to figure out whats going on with my case, and i have gotten more answers than my lawyer has.

im headed to bed. yall have a good night. or morning or afternoon. lol

  4. thanks for the reply!

you have been alot of help! keep it up!

i have one more question if you dont mind.

My wife is living in Tehran, Iran. The protest are not as bad as Libya, but there still are protest and it has gotten a little more dangerous.

My reasoning could be i dont want it to escilate and it get dangerous for her or make it harder for her to come here.

Does anyone think this is a good reason to expedite through the NVC?

Or should i not even try?

  5. Looks like everybody got their NOA-2 approvals and this forum is dead now. I am the last man standing. No NOA-2, no touch :whistle:since Nov.30, 2010, doing fantastic, pushing 7 months of wait. No worries. It will come when it will come. I will let myself know I got it on this forum and write a dozen of responses to myself with CONGRATULATIONS.

just been reading the post from this one to the end, made me smile,

but i see there are still a few of us left to rot,

i know im well over 200 days and counting,

    Mace

hey im still waiting...i have only been waiting 6 months as of tomorrow. im not on the spread sheet but im still waiting.

And my application went back to California!

  6. HI ..IM SORRY TO TELD YOU, BUT YOU CAN NOT GET A VISA B-1 B-2 BECAUSE THAT VISA IS FOR PEOPLE WHO WANTS TO VISIT THE COUNTRY, IF YOU APPLY FOR THIS VISA , THE PROCESS FOR THE GREEN CARD CAN BE DELAY , IS BETTER IF YOU GUYS STAY CALM AND WAIT FOR THE END OF THE PROCESS.

I dont think it will effect my green card process. it doesnt even go to the USCIS or the NVC. The b-1, 2 visa's are handled at the us embassy in the country you select. i just know once they see we are married and we are working on getting a greencard. They will probably deny the B-2 visa. i am just hoping there is someone who has tried this and actually got approved.

  7. I know this has been talked about before, and it is probably a bad idea.

But has anyone tried getting a B-2 visitor visa while waiting on the I-130?

My wife has a british visa, so we are going to meet in london to see eachother in march. I want to try to set up an appoitment at the US embassy in London to get her a B-2 visa. Maybe we can get lucky and get it.

anyone have any comments on this?

  8. I think the biggest mess up in the whole of this, is misinformation. USCIS had NO idea, they still don't, of the problems in Texas. They have been following scripts, and telling all sorts of odd things to people. The communication now, (and it is thanks to US that this is happening), is where no lawyer, senator or congressman can ever get through to. It's astonishing really, a group of people talking directly to the director of a service center. I am sure it's unheard of, but it's now working.

What is frustrating to me, is a machine could do a better job. i dont know why our tax money is going to employeeing people that read from a computer screen and just follow it exactly. That doesnt make any sense. it would save a ton of money if they just fire the employees. They can put a link online that says if your past this date then fill out this form for a process request.

Done. i think i just saved millions of dollars in tax payer money
