  1. NOT TRUE....He can only get the EAD with the AOS, now he can file separately for the EAD at a cost of $450.00, but he will still need to do the AOS at $1070.00. If he file for the EAD outside of filing for the AOS the EAD will expire at the same time that his 194 expires, and that is usually 90 days after he arrives on a K1. So the AOS is the best bang for the buck, not EAD, no work.

    thanks good to know!

guess maybe we will look at work under the table.. if he needs too

we'll figure that all out later...

so 2010 tax return for me and my co-sponsor

and blacking out ssn is okay??

    thanks for all the help

  2. If not above the poverty level, then you will need a co-sponsor. P.S are you aware that you will need to AOS after he arrives and that will be another additional cost of $1070.00. He will probably not be able to work for 5 to 6 months after arrival as well, must do AOS to obtain GC.

I have the money for the AOS.. things are figured out for the situation once he gets here... but I thought that you can get a working permit even before the AOS but that you will have to file the form again once we get the status change.. not true?

  3. Hi, they gave a blue slip to Vett for not having her tax returns for 07 08. I sent nattoy my co-sponsor's taxes for 07 08 09 and W2's for 10 and I marked out the social security number with a black marker. Nattoy said they were giving out blue slips on the day of his interview for people also not having enough far back taxes. It is confusing becuase the embassy checklist only says last years. I think if you use a co-sponsor you will def need atleast 3 years back. Nattoy also said that in window five on his interview( the person who goes through your paper work and takes out what they what) That about the only thing that the person took was my co-sponsor's tax papers.

    Thanks that really helpful

so you think that I should send the last three years of tax returns for both my co-sponsor and myself?

also was it all good just to black out your co-sponsors SSN? cause I think they would feel a lot more comfortable if that is the case.

i know that she just worries about identity fruad. not that my fiance would do that but any others that see the forms.

    Thanks DF

  4. the 'stuff' is collected up, and a 'visa packet' is made.

This visa packet is hand carried back by the beneficiary, given over to CBP at the POE.

CBP and POE don't make any sense to me.. sorry?

do you just need the most previous year 2010? or will I really need 3 years?

    what is the poverty line??

incase I have to file myself... im not sure if I will be above it or not?

    thanks for the help

  5. I just sent mine and no problem. I have my own business and this is the only way i can prove it without a pay stub to boot so i have no way or proof to show them. I ask my fiancee to guard all my information in his life. :) Do not worry I send all my paperwork to him today via FEDEX priority....keeping my fingers crossed on the front i wrote very important paperwork for US embassy interview....

Once at the interview does the Embassy keep the paper work?? or is the "evidence and forms" sent back with him?

  6. I see that a lot of people say that the income taxes are required for the interview.. but when I look at the USCIS instructions it doesnt say that it is needed for the form..

is that just usually asked for by the embassy?

my co-sponsor is a bit uncomfortable providing all the information and sending it over seas...

didnt know if there was a way of avoiding it? or if it is always even needed?

    help would be great.

  7. SSOOO I got my NOA1

    which im pretty excited about...

but now that I have also recieved my hard copy- I have tried to track it with the reciept number but everytime I do it says taht the form can not be found.. I even created an account with the USCIS in attempt to just have them e-mail me when something does happen to it.. but it wont let me because the reciept number isnt right??! is this normal.. should I just give it some more time.. Or should I just be giving the USCIS a call tomorrow to ask them whats going on?

    Thanks for any help

  8. I am going to visit my fiance, probably during when our petition is hopefully accepted... so I want to know what I should bring with my for the I-134 since I wont be at home to collect everything. I know that I need a letter from my employer.. that I also need about 3 pay stubs, and bank statements on both my accounts... but what about income taxes? can I just do my most resent income tax 2011? same iwth my parents who will be my co-sponser. I know we need all the same paper work for them...

I will also be bringing with me letter of intent (again) and more evidence (itinerary, wedding dress reciept and my phone records) But I guess Im not as worried about those things as filling out the I-134 correctly for myself and my Parents. If anyone could give me some type of check list- to what exactly they're looking for would be great... I have looked at the FQA on VJ and the directions of the I-134 on the USCIS website but then i hear of all these other things that are required... just want it put out straight for me.

Thanks for any of the help. it is always appriciated!

  9. Any thing you send thru FedEx or dhl to or from Jamaica is going to cost you 50 dollars or more. Now to simplify this process, mail coming from Jamaica to the US can take anywhere from 2 to 4 weeks. There is no getting around it, everything gets held up in custom in Miami, and get scanned for drugs. If you are waiting on the passport pictures, have him to scan them and send them via email, take a copy download via CD to Walgreen, CVS, Walmart and have them to print them out passport size.

Not sure what you are sending in the package, but all of the documents can be sent via email, he can download them and send them back to you.

So I know that everything can be e-mailed.. but as far as getting original signature.. i dont think that there is much getting past the mailing process.

when I sent him the forms, it was just the forms and some picture I wanted to share with him.. thats really the only reason i sent it, I know of course things can be e-mailed then printed the signed then sent to me... but i wanted to know how long the mailing to the us would take... thanks for letting me know. I will give it a little more time before having him send me them again.. i figured it had to do with customs its in a large paper size evelope.. and weighs a bit more... so I figure it might take a bit ... just hopefully not over a month.

  10. okay im visiting him... and im a US citizen and as far as i know its okay to visit without a visa as long as it is less then 90 days which is what im going for...

as far as the package goes.. im going to wait a couple more days and if I still dont get it im just going to send him another... cant believe how insane the post office service is.. i will definitely let my fiance know that he should go through fred ex or dhl... though it is only some paperwork. Not really a big package but still... just seems rediculous, if its much longer we will both need to take new passport pictures..

  11. OKAY, so my frustration lies in the fact that my fiance has sent me a package containing all the forms that he needed to sign along with his passport style photos two and a half weeks ago... I guess there really isnt any question here, but I was wondering if some people found this to be normal.. I know I should get some patients, since once we send out the petition i will be waiting for a MUCH longer amount of time... but I would rather be waiting on that knowing that we are getting some where then waiting on the post office to deliver the last things i need to get moving forward.. is this normal?? my fiance lives in Jamaica, it took one week exactly for my things to get to him, he sent it in that same day and I am now on day 17... I figure i will send out another package with all the same forms, but I didnt know if I should still have my hope up on this package getting to me... anyone have similar situation?

also I just was reading that in some cases while the petition is being reviewed you cant visit your fiance... is this entirely true?? or only for some countries? I have been planning a trip to live with him in June till late August.. should I be cancelling?? (I sure as hell hope not!)

Thanks for any help or advice you can give me I always appriciate it,

    DF

  12. Hmm, for my mom's, she does have a house and street number and they bring the mail to her, so I put her full address.

For the Street I put: House # & Street, Area/District (I didn't put May Pen P.O although I could have, she gets the mail from me whether I put it or not.)

    For City I put: Clarendon

    For Country I put: Jamaica

For Zip Code I put: W.I.

If he doesn't have a house number and street number I would write:

Street: Newell District, Watchwell P.O. or P.A

    City: Saint Elizabeth

    Country: Jamaica

    Zip Code: W.I.

(W.I. stands for West Indies - everybody dealing with Immigration or related issues will know that so don't worry)

Maybe other people who have had a similar address layout as your fiance will respond.

    Thank you thats really helpful!

I was going to just do

    Newell district- street adress

    Watchwell PO- city/ town

    Saint Elizabeth- state/ province

    Jamaica W.I- country

I hope that that lay out will also work.. I filed out all my paper work already and my fiance has signed and everything so i was hoping this would be acceptable.. if not it would add another three weeks for me to send this petition out.. which i would rather not. Thanks so much for your help

  13. Do not use abbreviations. They will not know what they are. Write out the full country name and any city or place names etc in full.

I dont understand then? will it still get sent to his post office if i just write watchwell?

or should i write Newell Distric Post Office for the street name?

I dont even know what the W.I stands for after Jamaica.. I just know that it needs to be there for it to be sent to the post office...

  14. Okay,

So i have asked a question similar to this and thought i had the right answer but im not so sure anymore...

I am filling out my fiances address on the form and i am going to put down his post office address because this is where he would recieve his mail... should if the address is

Newell District for the street name

and watchwell P.O for the city/ town does that work?? or should I leave out the P.O? for post office.. though i know they just want his address to send him information in the future.

    also for country

    should I write Jamaica W.I ??

also part of his post office address.. I ask this stupid question because I know that they can deny or send your petition back for some silly reasons.. and of course i would perfer not to have the detour. Thanks for any help you can give me!

  15. okay.. well I wasnt going to plan an exact date.. I am really hoping that this processe wont take to much longer than 9 month.. which will be the time spand by october.. but thanks for the advice. we'll complete everything else in the 3 months after we have the visa.. I was going to go to jamaica in june and we would work on the rest of the visa together... I am sending the F-129 this week.. so ya I guess we'll just see what happens.

    Thanks

  16. Im a february Filer.

my fiance lives in Jamaica... I am attempting to plan a wedding... does anyone think that if we set the date for late October the likelihood of him being here is high??! I really was hoping for an outdoor wedding... though at this point I dont care where it is/ when as long as hes here.. but I just was looking to get some advice for those who have completed some of the process, see if its possible. We have a pretty basic Visa, no kids involved, no divorces... though it is being filing in Vermont- and i hear they're sllloowww. I Dont know.. but any advice you could give me would be awesome...

    Thanks

  17. soo, I just want to make sure that Im not going to screw anything up.. so this may come off like a stupid question but it would ease me a little, to know for sure!

I have used the downloaded forms from the USCIS website and typed in my information (besides signiture) then printed the forms out and signed them... if I send these forms to Dallas. these are acceptable. RIGHT?!

I just have a stupid fear that these arent going to get accepted.... just want to make sure Im sending legit doccuments.

Thanks for any help.. it will ease my mind
