  1. Hey Monyfer- yeah I called the 703 number and asked them. If they've received your case you can also ask them if they've sent out your packet 3 yet.

  2. Yes, I will definitely miss isla :( but it's all for the best, we have no family there and we're just barely getting by. It's time to move on to bigger and better things.. isla will always be there to visit :) I'm in the US right now for job interviews but I'm going back tomorrow. Kind of excited since I left my dogs and my fiance there! lol

  3. Hellooo! We're good, planning for the big move on August 29th. Try looking up the DCF stuff on the USCIS website or something.. I don't think a lot of people go that route so there might not be as much info about it. But basically you are applying for a I-130 Spousal Visa but instead of sending it to the US to get looked it, you send it to the USCIS office in Mexico :)

  4. Hey! How's it goin? I think a few years ago they would still give stamps that allowed them to work upon arrival, but I guess now even if they get that stamp it's useless as the rules have changed or something? I know it's so frustrating that they have to wait so long to work, Emilio is gonna be so bored!

  5. yup! you can pay the medical with a credit card, that's what we did. And he's gonna be fine, he won't mess anything up. It's all pretty straight forward. I was worried that my fiance would say something wrong too lol but they ask pretty simple questions. Is he nervous too? I'm so excited for you guys because I know on the 21st you're gonna be sending me a message wit...

  6. Are you nervous for the interview or the fact that he has to go to Juarez! lol Don't worry you guys will be fine I'm sure of it! I was super nervous too, and so was Em but it wasn't nearly as bad as we thought it was going to be. As long as he has all the papers he needs, he's gonna do great and soon enough he'll have his visa! Is he waiting in Jaurez for it or h...

  7. Hey- you're going the DCF route? Cool! I saw that no one was replying to your question and since I obviously didn't go that way I can't help but maybe you can find someone who has previously written in the DCF forum and send them a private message or email if its listed. ..

  8. you too! :) (even though you had to go back to Juarez !)

  9. woo hoo!! us too :) :)

  10. Haha we'll I'm going to keep my fingers crossed that tomorrow is the day! It's funny because I wanted to wait in Juarez for the visa but my fiance said no let's just have it sent to Cancun where we live.. I'm glad he said no, I wouldn't want to have waited there for more days than we had to! I was so bored there lol

  11. No we didn't call lol We were going to but we looked at the little piece of paper they gave my fiance when he went to his ASC appointment with all of the information about how to pick up the visa with DHL and it said that it takes somewhere between 5-10 business days for the way number to show up on the website.. we're only at 3 (or 4 if you can count the day of the interview) right now...

  12. haha yes of course and if guys get news let me know too! I think that if nothing shows up over the weekend we're gonna call on monday-- I think I read somewhere that if you don't pick it up within 10 days they send it back-- we definitely don't want that to happen!

  13. No way bill yet--- we're getting nervous lol. My fiance keeps saying "maybe my visa wasn't approved"... have you gotten yours?

  14. thanks! you guys must be here in Juarez now! Don't worry everything is gonna go great! :)

  15. i keep scheduling and rescheduling the appointment, I hope I don't confuse the consulate!

  16. I just rescheduled the ASC appointment for July 5th at 3:20 so now we'll have time for the medical on the 4th, and if something happens we have time for the medical in the morning on the 5th.. !

  17. I didn't schedule the medical, that came out wrong. But I did schedule the ASC for the 4th, I wasn't sure if it would be open but it let me do it on the website and it did show that the consulate was closed so idk.. I'm going to change it around though and have my fiance do the medical on the 4th, it seems like more people do the medical 2 days in advance so that's probably bett...

  18. wooo I'm glad you wrote on my "wall" so I could see that you are having your medical on the 4th, someone else told me that the clinics were closed on the 4th so I scheduled the ASC for the 4th and the medical for the 5th for my fiance which I didn't feel that comfortable about. now that I know they are open I'll switch it! Good luck to you, we'll see you there! haha

  19. we haven't gotten the packet yet but it's been sent to us... we're going to make our appointment though for late July so that we can buy plane tickets in advance to get a better price. I feel like I can almost see the light at the end of the tunnel lol

  20. yeah that was me! lol but that requirement is for the affidavit of support i-864, k1's for the interview only need the affidavit of support i-134, the 864 form we don't need until we're adjusting their status once we're in the US. i freaked out too until i realized my lawyer was filling out the wrong form lol

  21. I'm not sure.. but anyway, since you aren't in such a hurry to leave the K1 is still fine.. You're in a tough spot I wouldn't know what to do in your situation :-/

  22. well i don't know for sure obviously but just by looking around on this site and stuff it seems like it takes a lot less time because you don't need to send the paperwork to USCIS and wait 5 months, you send it to Mexico City and it only takes them a few weeks to approve the paperwork. Then it goes to the consulate, but the wait for an appointment may be longer for a spouse visa than a ...

  23. it takes less time and thats what we would have done if we had known how long the K1 visa process was

  24. OMG that's absolutely horrible.. I don't even know what to say except I hope that she recovers and I hope that the baby is ok.. I saw that your sister got her NOA2 really quickly!.. I also saw your post about marrying in Mexico.. and then filing for k1.. in your situation since you live here you could get married here and then file directly with the consulate :)
