We got NOAs for the EAD & AOS, saying they received them. Is it normal not to get a priority date on the noa? Its just blank in both of them...Also, we got touched 8 days after they sent the NOA, how many times on average does an applicant get "touched" before something happens?
thanks so much!

My brother in law is a joint sponsor for my husband. We're hearing contradictory information about filing, and need help. One uscis officer told me my brother in law should file a i-864 and i-864a, and another insisted that only the i-864a was necessary. Also, am i included as part of his household size, or only his family and my husband?
Thanks for any help

Hey, i was wondering if i could get some help with the I 864 affidavit. We're working on our AOS application now. I will be sponsoring my husband but i know i will need a joint sponsor. His brother is willing to be the joint sponsor, so he fills out another I 864, right? Here's the confusing part, we're living with his brother, so do him and his wife need to fill out the addendum to the I 864??? (The one that's for people you live with?) Will only he need to fill it out or will his wife? Also, we haven't been living with them for more than 6 months, the application says thats a requirement....
Any
is appreciated
also...the last 3 years' tax returns i didn't file independently, i was claimed as a dependent by my father, do i include them?
thanx a bunch

Re: 1 year EAD -- you must fill in the correct code for your eligibility for EAD. You are filing for EAD based on an AOS application, not on the K-1 visa. If you write in the code for K-1 visa, you will get an EAD for less than 90 days.
What is the code for AOS? Would that also mean that under his legal status i should say aos instead of k1, or is it only the code that counts?
thanks so much

Hi!
I'm working on my husband's AOS and EAD papers. Both forms require some of the same things, like a copy of the visa, i-94, and pictures. Should i include double pictures & documents, for each form?
Also, does anyone from minnesota know if i can take the forms to a local office? On the applications i requested from the USCIS it says there's an office in bloomington, does anyone know if this info is dated or not? I'm not sure if they go to the chicago lockbox or if there's a way to file them locally in minnesota.
One last question, i read in one of the threads about asking for a 1 year workers permit so it doesnt have to be renewed, how do i do that? Is there a special place on the form where i can request that, or is it automatic?
Thanks so much!

Is it possible to get the EAD from a walk in appointment? My fiance's here on a k1 visa, and that would be awesome if he could get the EAD that soon after we get married...

Before we get our marriage license, i was wondering, if my fiance wants to change his last name, can he do that on the marriage license like women do? Will it count as a proof of ln change?
thanks

Hi!
I looked at the guide for getting a social security card, but i'm still confused about something. Question 3 on the application has 2 boxes we can check "legal alien allowed to work" and "legal alien Not allowed to work." My fiance came on a k1 visa, but didn't get the work stamp on his 1-94 and didn't get an EAD yet. Does anyone know what we should mark?
Thanks so much!

Hey Rahma...
That's really cool...I didnt know you were from minnesota!!! Way cool.. I live in NE minneapolis. The conservatory is really beautiful! Hey 5000 is better than 7000 + for a hotel. By the way, what's the capacity there? That would be so cool if we could pull off our wedding there, eventhough we have a billion and a half guests!! lol..
Best wishes for wedding planning!!

White Passport for travel?
in Moving to the US and Your New Life In America
Posted
Hi everyone.
I have a question. My husband has a green card and we're wondering what documents are needed for travel. I heard that a white passport is helpful, and wanted to know more about it. First of all is it needed? What does it help with, does it replace a regular passport issued from his country? And, how do you get one? Is there an application, and how long does it take?
If anyone knows anything about it, please help...
Thanks...
