  1. Hey all you clowns

I finally got my GC. Thanks to all those handful of peole who bothered to write and not many thanks to the rest who didn't care.

Well All I have to say for people who are waiting is...HAVE PATIENCE...I will see you all in 2 years when I apply for removal of conditions.

BTW..I didn't need this GC desperately at all.. I had my H1B visa all along and I just applied for GC cause it will make my life easier in the US....

ANyway it took me almost 2 years and I was inside the US all the time and the process was painful I can see how much pain it is for couples who live seperately in different countried.

    Bye

    Hams

  2. Guys

I found out that my AOS case is at the desk of an immigration officer just waiting for his/her approval. But at this time I have to move out of state. Can any one tell me how important it is to inform them of the change in address? I am really worried that it might screw things up if I change offices. Please advice if anyone has been in a similar situation or not.

I feel I am really close to an approval .

    Thanks all,

    H

  3. Guys

After all the forms are turned in for I-485, can any one tell me if you have to go for a Biometrics right after? This is assuming you have not applied for Advacne PArole or EAD card. Please let me know. I am trying to remember if I did but can't. I recently went for by I 485 related biometrics and I am not sure if this was my second appt. as the first one had expired.

    Thansk Ya' all

  4. Sounds like they really screwed up your fingerprints or else the digital record somehow got corrupted. I think the infopass is a good idea. This seems like a long time, but you didn't say how long since you had to redo the fingerprints. Did you change addresses?

    Guys

Thanksfor replying. The last time I had my fingerprinting was in August 2005 Time frame. I had just submitted my forms in June-July 2005. And now I got another appt. for biometrics. I did check with the FBI fingerprint hotline and they said they had returned my fingerprints the same day (first time)..

I already had a infopass sometime last year and the clowns at the Philly office did not have anything new to say that I didn't know.

  5. Guys

I sent my AOS form in july 2005. On the philly USCIS website they are procesing forms with current date of August 2005. That means my I-485 should have been done, right? I already had my AOS interview november last year. Can some one tell me whats goin on and if they have the same xpreience as me?

Please advice as I am a little worried. What do I need to do?

Have you changed address at any point during the process?

If not, it sounds like you're stuck in "name check" hell.

You are kinda right.. I have reasons to believe so. ARe you one of those unlucky ones? How long does this BS take to fix? can you tell?? Do I need to take any action from my side??

  6. Yes you may find your Greencard is lost in the mail as happened to mine... I only found this out at my infopass appointment... If this is what has happened you will need to file an I-90 and pay the fee to get a new card... I did try the get off from the fee under the new rule "Greencard not received" but it turns out that only applies if the card was returned to them as not delivered....

Go make that infopass and find out where your card is....

Thanks for your reply. I just got off the phone with USCIS and they recommend that I make an INFO pass as the local office will have more upto date info on my case than their system. Also, I think my name may be stuck in FBI name check. But I have waited toooo long. Any way let's wait and see what happens.

There is no reason one should have to go thru this if they are getting AOS thry family, right?

  7. Alright

    Here is my story

I had my AOS interview in Nov 2005 and still not received anything. My 2 year wedding anny is coming up soon and no signs of GC. I keep calling the ####### at USCIS and they keep filing for a follow up. I already did this 3 times and nothing has happened as of yet. I am frustrated. So, can you tell if it helps to get a INFO PASS and go to the local office to check the status? Please advice.

    thanks

  8. Hey

If it makes you feel any better, I had my interview done on November 2005 for AOS and got a verbal approval. As of now there is no sign of the ###### GC.. I am lucky that i have a H1B to work with.. But it can be a real pain. I already called those INS ####### 3 times to follow up on my case. Nothing seems to have worked. My name is still stuck at some clerks desk.....Oh God..

  9. Guys

Congrats. Can you tell me how you got your card so fast? I had my interview in Nov 2005 and have not receieved my GC yet. They say my name is stuck on FBI name check. Do you remember the name of the person that interviewed you? Did they stamp your passport and take away your I-94? Please let me know as I went to Phila office too and I have had no luck yet.

    Thanks in advance.

  10. My son-in-law has been waiting since his interview in May 2005. And believe me even a senator cannot move the FBI name check, you just have to wait. You can try sending them the info below to the email address at the bottom, we did that also, but have not received a reply.

    Dear Sir or Madam,

I would like to know if my FBI clearance and name check has been cleared. The check was requested by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (CIS).
