We initially met in Canterbury, England in March of 2008 when we were both medical students on away rotations. But once we completed our rotations, we had to part ways. I returned to the US and he to Germany. We really were determined to keep our relationship alive and managed to visit each other quite a lot over these past few years. This January we decided together that we were ready for the next step and are now applying for the K1 visa.
