  1. This is for a friend who asked me a question about how to go about his daughter petition...

He filed for his daughter over 25 three years ago and the I 130 was just approved and petition was forwarded to NVC......

The daughter visa is expired and she was to remain here and finish the I 130 process.

    Is this possible....

I am not sure but I think I read somewhere that alien have valid non-immigrant status is waived for immediate relatives of US citizens ..

What are the options left his daughter and what is the next step....

Constructive ideas is needed........As I said, its not me......So spare me the attacks... lol

  2. Hey all,

I'm guessing the interview threads aren't normally started until the actual month starts... but given that a bunch of us from the NVC thread got interview dates today, I thought we could start a May interview thread. This topic won't be the same without Saylin, but we can try anyway

My wife and daughters interview was a success and now is the turn of my mother..It should be coming up sometime in May..I will be looking out for this thread

  3. Okay I am getting myself confused. I have ordered my transcripts back to 2008. And I also file 2012. My question is do I still have to have all W2's? Or is the transcripts for all those years good enough for the embassy?

Just trying to get all my ducks in a row.

The tax transcript for the three most recent years is what i required of you to submit. It you have that then you obviously have the W2 for the same years with you , so its better to include them too.I included both my tax transcripts and my w2 for my family's interview and the interview went smooth..Also include any evidences you can lay your hands on , no matter how minute you think it it..Call records, email, chat logs, greeting cards, letter from families ,western union receipts etc. Good luck in your interview

  4. Thank you Ayomide(I will check the site) and NigeriaorBust. All very good suggestions. I know about the bearer of the credit card having to show the card at the time of check in so that have me worried about buying tickets online from here for someone who will be coming from Africa. I will try to come back and update you n what I do eventually.

    Sepha

I called Delta and told them that i paid for the tickets with my Credit card here and that my family are coming from Nigeria..I was asked to go to the Delta kiosk at the Airport here to show them the card and that everything will be fine. I did that and i am good to go

  5. Thanks. That is a good suggestion. I will try that too. Yes, the ticket prices are really high especially if you are trying to buy on short notice.

This is the website of the travel agency that i used .http://www.mennotravelservice.com.. They name of the agent that helped me with my tickets is steve

call them ,they might be able to help you too

  6. CONGRATULATIONS ON new BABY!

Try getting a one way ticket from a very reliable travel agent here in the US. Its way cheaper than anything you will see online...I just got a one way ticket on Delta for two people from Lagos to here for Little over 1900...All the prices i was seeing online was scary

  7. Approved!! It was FAST. My appointment was at 1PM and we were out of there by 2PM.

Everything was smooth except they had difficulties taking my fingerprints.

The consular officer asked me the ONE question I didn't know the answer to: how much does your husband make? :bonk: I gave a guesstimate and it wasn't too wrong.

Besides that, some simple questions which didn't always make sense (like how's your husband's brother's girlfriend?, after I mentioned she came to our wedding... what do you mean how is she?? Who cares right now??)

I'll make a full review when I get back home tomorrow!

Congrats and welcome to the March success club...Good luck on those still waiting to hear some good news

  8. Hi All,

Had my interview today and was approved!!! :)

I was the 1st in line at 6:30 am.

Left the consulate around 9 am. I waited about 40 min after they took my paperwork for the interview. I was so glad I got there early because it was CRAZY in front of the consulate as I was leaving.

I never would have gotten through this so smoothly without visa journey. HUGE thank you to this website and everyone that helped me - especially Saylin who helped me each step of the way :)

Yay! Now just to wait for the visa in the mail. :/

    S

    Congrats

I got plane tickets for April 12th, which should be way enough time to receive the passport with the visa if everything goes well, but I kind of forgot that I have an appartment full of stuff to get rid of :bonk: . The ticket was an "impulsive purchase" I made the day I received the interview letter

Lol   :blink: It will be a breeze for you too.Goodluck in Advance

Just told the hubby who offered prayers of thanksgiving... may you all get your approvals very, very soon! Amen!

  11. Just wanted to sy my visa was approved and i have it in hands. They never ever mentioned oversstay i actually came up and say i stopped attending school last year, did not file adjustment of status due to the things we were going thru with our daughter. The lady that gets your documents nee every single thing about my case. She was very nice and simpathetic. She said the consul was aware of my case and was going to have him interview me first. The consul said hi asked me to swear to tellthe truthand asked me three questions, yes three wuestions. When did we get married, when did we meet, do you guys have a daughter together? Then he said i have nothign else to ask, your vida is approved, i have no doubts you have s real relationship so welcome back to america. I then asked if i could have my visa printed the next day because i wanted go leave saturday, he said he would try and if he was able to he would call me to get it later that afternoon which he did call me two hours later amd here i am withmy visa in hands already. For those who helped me thru this journey so much i am deep,y thankful. I am glad i did not listen to a couple mean ones that kepg on sayi g things they werenot aware of so for that i say consult a lawyer.

Congratulations...Nice to see real families coming together
