  1. Dear All,

I can't thank this forum enough for the wealth of information I have received from here. I was out traveling, hence a bit delay on my side for sending my information and fee's in to NVC, however, apart from that, this forum has been right on the money for the dates thus far and the process.

I paid the AOS fee earlier this week and also mailed out my AOS package. I did not receive any further documents from NVC, so I just downloanded the I-864ez form and sent it along with all the supporting documentation (via email and regular post).

My wife did her part as well by emailing them the DS 3032 (without any barcode) and it was all cleared and accepted.

Now there is a bit of a confusion that I have. On the DS 3032, my wife had put only my gmail.com email address. I went ahead and mailed them my AOS package and also scanned all my docs and emailed them from my work email address. This morning I received an email with IV fee invoice, and it is sent to my personal (gmail) and work email address. Does that mean, they have accepted my AOS docs and started reviewing them ?

Regardless, I hope the timeline continues to move at the current pace.

  2. Glad you are approved as well Ruston.

My NVC letter was generated on June 3rd, unfortunately, I was out of the country, so could not act on it until this morning. However, this morning:

    1. Paid AOS bill.

    2. Wife sent in DS 3032 via email.

Hoping that in the next 2 weeks will have my AOS stuff generated and I can send the required docs back to them and also pay the Immigrant Visa fee. I have gathered up all my AOS docs required (last 3 yrs tax return transcripts, last 6 months paystub). I feel I am rushing against time, since I am heading back to London in exactly a month for 2 weeks trip and don't want any further delays in processing due to me not being at home to receive the mails.

  3. Have a question on this one folks. I am a bit confused.

    I read on the website = http://www.travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/nvc/nvc_1335.html

    the two steps are:

Affidavit of Support Processing and Applicant Document processing.

I know I will do the affidavit of support, already requested my IRS transcripts and will send them copy of my 2010 return. However, on the applicant document processing, is where I get confused. If my wife assigns me as the agent, is it my responsibility to gather all the documents and send to the NVC? If she requests no choice of agent and asks that all documents sent to her, then what is her responsibility ?

Any help is highly appreciated. I was excited earlier, work is taking me to Paris (flying out on 20th night)for some time, however, now its mixed feelings as I will have to wait till I return back from Paris to get all this prepared and sent to NVC.

  4. Congrats Magical and Raj.

Hopefully mine will be coming soon !

Raj, my date is few days before yours, however just checked the site and there is no update on my case, hopefully will be up for update soon. Atleast I got the ITIN number i had applied for my wife this past weekend, now just a confirmation that they have processed the tax return and I can request the transcripts.

  5. Garett & Mark-Laura,

mine are similar dates as well and shows Feb 23rd as the last update. My guess is end of May is when we should hear. I did see someone with a Dec 14th date get their approval notice :)

Still waiting to hear from IRS on the ITIN, once I have that, i'll send in my request for tax transcripts, want to get these docs already requested so that once the AOS stuff begins I don't lose out on any of the days.

  6. I am in the same boat. I am a US citizen (but i was living and working in Bermuda then), wife's a British national. I obtained marriage visas from the British Embassy in April 2010, flew to UK to live in the local council district for 9 days, and gave my notice to get married. Next is to wait for a minimum of 15 days before i can sign the papers (and I was not required to remain in the country so returned back to Bermuda to continue working due to shortage of vacation days). Flew back to UK in august 2010 and completed the civil ceremony and I returned back to Bermuda end of August.

I tried initiating the application in Bermuda and was told im not allowed to, and could not get an answer on where to file in the US. So finally quit my job in Bermuda and returned back to US (fortunately had a job lined up in US by then)and then filed her CR1 in Jan 2011. You can see the rest in my timeline. Unfortunately we still have the wedding per the religious customs to be done, which is scheduled for july this year, so she's still living in the UK and we decided to wait out the time required to complete the process. Allows us means and time to gather fund for the "big fat Indian Wedding".

Really hoping that she has her visa's by end of July and can travel back to the US with me after the religious ceremonies and planned honeymoon.
