For those of you who have finished your interviews, could you please let me know how long it took for you to get your visa and passport back? My wife has her interview on the 31st of october, hoping to travel to US by the 10-11th of november. Gives us about 8 working days for them to process and ship, can it be done ?

thomaskendall is your packet from NVC already sent to US embassy? We tried doing that, after couple of weeks we got a response saying they don't have our packet yet. I called NVC on wednesday last week and they said packet is not even sent yet from NVC.
-
Got an Interview date of October 31, however, trying to call in and see if I can get an earlier date. Embassy won't say anything until they receive file from NVC. Does anyone else know if their file has been sent from NVC to the embassy ?

Got an email today about October 31, 2011 date. Hoping to find a spot earlier if possible (will try and find out if there are any cancellations or date change requests from others)

I got an email today - October 31, 2011 interview date in London. Trying to see if we can sneak in a spot in case of any earlier cancellations or date changers. October 31, is too far out.
-
wow, it seems that they are quite busy at the embassy and interview dates are far out from the NVC approval date.
-
we had an RFE from the NVC which delayed us a bit, but just got the SIF this morning. Called the NVC and they said case is completed and approved as of this morning. We should hear about the interview scheduling soon. Hoping we get an early/mid september date !

I just got the same email on the DS 230.
I called up NVC and they said it typically takes 20 business days once the package arrives at NVC for them to action it. Our packet was delivered June 27, 2011, so just going to wait it out for few more days and hope they opent he packet and review it and the next notification we get is about the interview date.

Dear All,
I can't thank this forum enough for the wealth of information I have received from here. I was out traveling, hence a bit delay on my side for sending my information and fee's in to NVC, however, apart from that, this forum has been right on the money for the dates thus far and the process.
I paid the AOS fee earlier this week and also mailed out my AOS package. I did not receive any further documents from NVC, so I just downloanded the I-864ez form and sent it along with all the supporting documentation (via email and regular post).
My wife did her part as well by emailing them the DS 3032 (without any barcode) and it was all cleared and accepted.
Now there is a bit of a confusion that I have. On the DS 3032, my wife had put only my gmail.com email address. I went ahead and mailed them my AOS package and also scanned all my docs and emailed them from my work email address. This morning I received an email with IV fee invoice, and it is sent to my personal (gmail) and work email address. Does that mean, they have accepted my AOS docs and started reviewing them ?
Regardless, I hope the timeline continues to move at the current pace.

Glad you are approved as well Ruston.
My NVC letter was generated on June 3rd, unfortunately, I was out of the country, so could not act on it until this morning. However, this morning:
1. Paid AOS bill.
2. Wife sent in DS 3032 via email.
Hoping that in the next 2 weeks will have my AOS stuff generated and I can send the required docs back to them and also pay the Immigrant Visa fee. I have gathered up all my AOS docs required (last 3 yrs tax return transcripts, last 6 months paystub). I feel I am rushing against time, since I am heading back to London in exactly a month for 2 weeks trip and don't want any further delays in processing due to me not being at home to receive the mails.

Hey Trojam227, sorry for the delayed response. To be honest, no idea why. But it could be that my address on the original application was a North Carolina address.
-
our NOA2 date is May 16, 2011 and the date on the NVC letter is June 3, 2011. It does take a bit of time, I had called them 2-3 times in between, and I got similar responses.

Thanks for the info Joanna!

Have a question on this one folks. I am a bit confused.
I read on the website = http://www.travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/nvc/nvc_1335.html
the two steps are:
Affidavit of Support Processing and Applicant Document processing.
I know I will do the affidavit of support, already requested my IRS transcripts and will send them copy of my 2010 return. However, on the applicant document processing, is where I get confused. If my wife assigns me as the agent, is it my responsibility to gather all the documents and send to the NVC? If she requests no choice of agent and asks that all documents sent to her, then what is her responsibility ?
Any help is highly appreciated. I was excited earlier, work is taking me to Paris (flying out on 20th night)for some time, however, now its mixed feelings as I will have to wait till I return back from Paris to get all this prepared and sent to NVC.

congrats rushton50. Looks like we both are trekking along together. I got a txt message around 6:30pm today and checked the site. Got approved !

I am a January 2011 filer. I saw a lot of December and few Jan's approved, so I called up the customer service number yesterday and they told me at CSC they are currently working on November 16, 2010 date applications. Don't know how true it will be, but there's some hope !
-
Congrats Magical and Raj.
Hopefully mine will be coming soon !
Raj, my date is few days before yours, however just checked the site and there is no update on my case, hopefully will be up for update soon. Atleast I got the ITIN number i had applied for my wife this past weekend, now just a confirmation that they have processed the tax return and I can request the transcripts.
-
Garett & Mark-Laura,
mine are similar dates as well and shows Feb 23rd as the last update. My guess is end of May is when we should hear. I did see someone with a Dec 14th date get their approval notice
Still waiting to hear from IRS on the ITIN, once I have that, i'll send in my request for tax transcripts, want to get these docs already requested so that once the AOS stuff begins I don't lose out on any of the days.

Getting there Raj. Little over a month of wait left (hopefully)

Looks like all Early Jan filers got "touched" on Feb 23, 2011. Mine says the same too.

Hey, not sure if you got your answer, but my wife traveled to US (valentines weekend) and she had no issues. Ofcourse her trip was only for the weekend (came from UK), so a short trip, but no questions asked at the airport. She's scheduled to visit for 2 weeks in april, hopefully no issues then too. I filed her I-130 petition in early Jan.

I am in the same boat. I am a US citizen (but i was living and working in Bermuda then), wife's a British national. I obtained marriage visas from the British Embassy in April 2010, flew to UK to live in the local council district for 9 days, and gave my notice to get married. Next is to wait for a minimum of 15 days before i can sign the papers (and I was not required to remain in the country so returned back to Bermuda to continue working due to shortage of vacation days). Flew back to UK in august 2010 and completed the civil ceremony and I returned back to Bermuda end of August.
I tried initiating the application in Bermuda and was told im not allowed to, and could not get an answer on where to file in the US. So finally quit my job in Bermuda and returned back to US (fortunately had a job lined up in US by then)and then filed her CR1 in Jan 2011. You can see the rest in my timeline. Unfortunately we still have the wedding per the religious customs to be done, which is scheduled for july this year, so she's still living in the UK and we decided to wait out the time required to complete the process. Allows us means and time to gather fund for the "big fat Indian Wedding".
Really hoping that she has her visa's by end of July and can travel back to the US with me after the religious ceremonies and planned honeymoon.
