According to Q#6 on the Abu Dhabi FAQ's of immigrant visa's..........the petitioner isn't required to be present.
Bob
Thank you for the input it eased my mind, Of course USC is not coming to town to accompany me, but that's okay I can manage alone.
I just got panicky reading No. requirement from http://abudhabi.usembassy.gov/immigrant_visas.htm , it means to me plain and simple "I would bring USC original passort to the Interview", a big why?
-
If the USC is required to be present at the interview, then it makes sense to show the USC original passport at interview and not otherwise.
Well, thanks. That's a lot 'sa help to my sressed mind, I got confused a little bit, I need to confrim it with two or three replies,
Myself (beneficiary) only is going to the Interview not the USC.

i just wondering what if the embassy didnt receive the medical record yet and its already the day of interview..is the interview should be resched or still can do interview?
Don't yo have it with you? In my case I have my medical record 2 days after, claimed it personally from the approved Clinic/physician "sealed" to bring it to the interview. Maybe it's diffrent in other locations. Maybe you can f-up from the clinic how/when they sent it.

It could be outdated or wrong info on the site.
To get the assured answer, you may e-mail/call directly to US-emabassy in Abu Dhabi.
Thanks, tried to call but get auto reply, emailed too but i will take 3 bs. days to get replied.
I want to save time if ever this requirement is indeed true.

To all VJ'ers
I will have my interview on Nov. 20 at US-emabassy in Abu Dhabi.
Just found from their site, they require (USC-petitioner) original passport? Is this true to other US-embassies?
I only have photocopy. Shall I request my USC husband it to be couried it to me? what if he has to travel on emergency and he doesn't have passport, or it may get lost during courier ? Kindly, share me some light on this those who already have passed esp.
Please your input is most needed.
-
Wow! Congratulations! Let's drink to that.
Let me just ask from your experience. Did you bring Petitoner's original passport to the Interview?
I will have my interview in the US Consulate Abu-Dhabi, UAE and found out from their site that they require this.
I have a photocopy only, shall I get denied of the visa if I don't have it?
Thanks a lot for retrun.

Is it good if I opt for Indian outfit like saree or Salwar suit??
This below is good advice for you, try to be open minded, half conservative and half liberated is okay.
Dressing should be pleasing to all . If I were you I'll try to be in "universal" attire don't get so absorbed
national costume. You'll be al right.

-

I am getting ready for my interview on Nov. 20. My hope increase when I read success story like you shared. Thank you

When USCIS approves I-130 they will forward to NVC(also in the US)
When NVC has finished processing they will forward your case to the US Consulate in your country.
[/quo
Thank you immensely for the information, can move on much easier now.
-
I am the beneficiary and I got my I-130 approved without my birth certificate at USCIS.
HOWEVER, it is one of the required civil documents when you get to the NVC stage. You will need to send it with IV/DS-230 package it but if you know it is not acceptable as it is, you will save yourself valauble time by requesting another one from the relevant body in your country of birth. You have approximately 5 months(without expedite) between submission of I-130 and the approval and forwarding to NVC.
Thanks, your reply /advice very worthwhile to me, I'll adhere to it.
But please bear with me, WHERE is the forwarding of documents to NVC gonna take place? I'm still studying the next step after I-130. Is it in my husband's (USA) or in the Relative's (mine) US-consulate? I'm reading too much info and sometimes get confused which will come next to what..huh. Please you can reply once more.
-
Here is a link that states what needs to be sent with the I-130: http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/menuitem.eb1d4c2a3e5b9ac89243c6a7543f6d1a/?vgnextoid=10093e4d77d73210VgnVCM100000082ca60aRCRD&vgnextchannel=10093e4d77d73210VgnVCM100000082ca60aRCRD
We did not send my wifes birth certificate with our I-130 application and it was approved. I sent a copy of my birth certificate to prove I am a US citizen (but could have sent a copy of my passport instead). After your I-130 is approved you must send the original birth certificate (or certified copy) to the NVC.
Thank you for this reply. I have peace now that it's really not needed to include in the I-130 package.

No, ur Birth Certificate is not required for ur case. u have to sent a completed form G-325A for urself and petitioner Husband and 2 photographs of urs.
BC is required if father is petitioning his child, it is not required for spouses petitioning for their wife/husbands.
But u will require copy of ur Marriage Certificate to be sent at USCIS.
We have got all other Forms/ requirements in place and ready. I can submit Original BC as it is during Interview. My follow up question is. Did you get your 1-30 from approved without it? Is there any Filers out there who can assure us of this experience?

Dear VJers,
Husband in the US is now concluding the I-130 Package. Please can you give us some definite answer if wife's Birth Certificate shall be included by the petitioner in the submission of I-130 package? My husband is saying it should be included he found it from somewhere too.
I asked because my Birth certificate so blurred but it's the one I've got which is authenticated by National Statistic Office in the Phils. I cannot improve it. However, I've read from some they'd included, but from other Filers I've searched from the net, they did not, and also from the Guide it says it's not needed, http://www.visajourney.com/content/i130guide1. What really is the actual happening? Did you get I-130 approved with or without it?
Please I need your answer on urgent. Thanks a lot, Graceful

Got one more to ask here.. In I-130 Form, C.17 What would it be? My husband's name (petitioner USC ) or mine.. being the alien/relative?
I'm bit confused.
-
I still think that your interview will be scheduled in Dubai, since that is where you live. I have known people personally in the past, who had their interviews elsewhere. One good friend had hers in Korea, even though she was a Filipina. As I said before, the NVC will assign the case to the appropriate consulate. Once you get your case number, you will know. The first three letters of the number are the consulate where you will interview. If it is MNL, you will interview in Manila. Fill out the forms, answer the questions as asked. Don't read into the questions.
Hi there, I'm doing fine with your worthwhile advice. Thank you.

Well, I can answer your follow-up question. You can obtain a certified xerox copy of the marriage cert from the NSO as soon as the marriage is registered. This copy will be blue in color, and will work for the intial petition. The certified original will be available in about 3 weeks once registered. This will be yellow, or green in color, and is what will be required at your interview.
As to your other questions, when filling out the G-325a, answer the questions as they are asked. Current address = where you are now. Since you have been there 5 years, you should only have to list your Dubai address since it is where you reside and the form states adress for last 5 years.... Vacationing in the PI doesn't count as a permamnent residence. Now, since you are living in Dubai, your hubby should list the US Embassy in Dubai as your consulate. NVC will assign your package to the appropriate embassy anyways. But since your primary residence is in UAE, you SHOULD be interviewed in Dubai.
Your name should reflect what is on your passport, since your passport name is what your visa will be issued to. I think there have been folks here who have changed the name on their passport after submitting their forms. Someone will correct me if I am wrong.
Hope this helps. Good luck and welcome to VJ!
Thank you so much for your input, however, still I'm quite hesitant to start filling out the forms, I've heard from another that Consulate address of the beneficiary should be in the country where the marriage took place, how true is this statement?, I have yet to find out. If I can get a visa in Dubai that would be much better , since I could still earn some money while waiting for the VISA interview/Approval without the hassles of gong back to the Philippines in between. I'm also considering the medical requirements I have to go through once, I don't think this is a nice place for all sorts of those tests. I'm scared getting vaccinations by medical practitioner somewhat foreigner to me. Hope I can hear some more..

Hello VJ friends!
I want to stop by to announce that my visa has been approved this morning! If you recall from my previous post, my first interview was on December 23rd, 2010. While it went very well as posted previously, I didn't have tax transcripts for 2008-2009 and I was asked to return with those documents on January 12, 2011. I went this morning and nothing was asked again. I just submitted the tax transcripts and the consular officer lifted the approval stamp and stamped "APPROVED" on my documents and handed me a blue visa collection slip to pick up visa on January 21. Praise God!
In all, it was not as stressful as I read on several forums and both consular officers were very nice and professional! I can't wait before I meet with my 23 months son and wife and it's going to be wonderful as well as fantastic! I'm going to get ticket this afternoon!
Thank you all once again for your wonderful contributions to this forum! I pray that y'all have smooth interviews and be approved without any stress! God bless us all!
Congratulations!!
My Hubby and I rejoice with you.

I am about to start filling out the form. Please I would like to know where you can find that line question which Form asks where the Fiancee/spouse will be getting the VISA? I too am not residing in my home country, but visiting there only.
Is it not on the basis of Address to be listed on G-325A, in the last 5 years?
or on 1-130 Information about Relative C. # 2. or is it #22, Shall I put there the Consulate where I intend get interviewed?
Or Should it be where in the country where the marriage took place/ or in the country where I currently work and reside, since there is
a US Consulate here in UAE?
Thanks for your input..

By the way, we would like to apply for CR1/IR1 Visa, as per what I've read it's better than K-3, since waiting time are almost same.

That's not true. In the Petition, there is a line that asks where your fiancee will be getting visa. That's how happened with us. I am from Uzbekistan, but live and work in Thailand. Our lawyer just put in that line to receive visa in Bangkok, Thailand and everything was forwarded here.

Hello dear VJ Members
Please I need your advice for my situation below.
1.)We got married in Manila, Phils. on Dec. 1, 2010, husband is back in the US and will start to work on I-130 Form, but I’m bit confused here , since I’ve been working in UAE-Dubai for 5 years now , and going home only to the Phils. for annual vacation, not sure which address I should write on the G-325A and I-130 (??) Should it be Dubai address / Or shall I write only Phils. address since that is my permanent address and will go back there for Interview. Or shall I rather get interviewed here in the US-Embassy- Dubai? Is it imperative that beneficiary’s : Consulate(US) must be in the country where Marriage took place for CR/IR1 Visa ? Has anyone had the same experience out there? Please, any light that you can shed on this matter will be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
2.)Can I write my married name on all application forms even though I haven’t changed my passport yet? I’ve enquired with PHils consulate-Dubai but I need to submit Marriage Certificate from NSO which will take a while, as per my hearing maybe 6 mos before it could be released. Follow up question: Anyone has the knowledge how long the NSO can release Certificates after it was submitted by the Local Municipality? If so, Is there any way it can be faster? (note: I am only holding our original Marriage Certificate registered locally)

Please can anyone give me some advice. Got married in the Phils. Dec. 01. Husband back in the US, I am now back in Dubai, he'd like to start the Process for CR/IR Visa. What address shall I use in filling up I-30 form. Is it in Dubai or Phils? I am confused, since I will go back to the Phils to wait for the visa. Has anyone have the same experience?
