It seems that they don't take much notice on the cover note that you send with packet 3. If you want to try for a sooner date, try e-mailing the consulate directly. But be prepared. VJ member 'mj_nj' did that and got an interview date very quickly.

I'm sure that mj_nj would be happy to give you the low down on how they went about doing this.

he did email the embassy and that is the date they gave him, why 1.5 months for an interview but then we sat back almost 7 months watching people way after our date get their NOA2 until we got ours..

So we read to maybe get a sooner interview date include the wedding day .. well not sure that was a good idea. My fiancee called this am and guess what interview date they gave him? yep..our date we chose.. 1.5 months from now..when everyone else is getting 2 weeks..this journey started Aug. 26, 2011 and will finally happen.

Today is the happiest day.. one of the last Aug. 26th noa1's...got our approval today. Never thought this day would come..yeh! Best of luck to the rest of you..

Filed August 30th to Vermont for K1, touch Dec 6th and still nothing. Just curious if any others still haven't received an answer. Have called repeatedly and am only being told they are 30 days behind. Well, Im past the "30 days" behind mark as well. We are in our 7th month. Does this mean problems?

We are Aug. 26th and still none. We just got an RFE last Thurs. and I mailed what they needed priority mail so received a confirmation they received it..so hopefully they will approve us this week.. best of luck...I know the feeling.. try writing an email to this site and in the subject put your receipt number..Explain the timeframe.. this is the district office..we did and the person there must of called someone in the called the center because I got and email back quickly saying they would check it out.. The next day it said within 14 days took like 8 and I got the RFE so may help you. Good luck!

Has anyone met or seen anyone that recently got their NOA-2 in less than 5 months? If so, what center?

There was on approved from a California center /manilla with in 16 days.. how is this? we wait 6 months.. they get it in 16 days!

Believe it or not, the totally obscene time they are forcing you to wait is average.

So complain about the system because, yes, it is absolutely abysmal and run by complete idiots.

But don't worry that there might be a specific problem with yours because you are right in the average of it all.

If it is average please explain why the California Center has approved the majority of Sept...they say they are working on end of Sept.. I too am an Aug. petitioner and everytime we inquire they tell us to wait weeks longer...how can people month after ours be approved? and if there is a problem why can't we be told?

I called USCIS today and got through to a person very quickly. She said her name was Amanda and she was very helpful. I was caught off guard by her sweetness, especially when I called and expected to be a little more on the angry side. I am approaching the five month mark here in about 10 days and have contacted both Senators and my Congressman. Amanda (USCIS) gave me the VSC e-mail and then another e-mail I hadn't heard of even on this site. She said it is to the agency that directs all of the service centers and you are GUARANTEED to receive a response from them within 10 days of contacting them.

Best of luck to you. We are past our 5 month mark closer to 6 month.. I have called numerous times to be told to just wait longer first 2 weeks then 30 days. then the agent would not give me his agent number and gave me an email address and what info to send so I did and got some form letter stating to wait another 45 days for answer! Another 45 days??? why they put on there if questions not solved at the national center to email the service center for resolution.. you can't call them..so you get a response after you write back with the information you initially sent to be told you received a message from us telling you to wait 45 more days...huh???? if there is a problem is there a reason they can't just tell us instead of blowing us off. I hope you get better results.. I guess next step is calling my senator and I have already emailed my congress woman..can someone explain why some have to go this far for an approval. this is our lives we are not just a folder on their desk .. we are human beings

Sorry you are having such a rough time. My heart is with you and I really know how you are feeling we are coming quickly up to our 6 months and see no news in the future the uscis just keeps telling us no problems should be soon or any day but nothing..today was a very hard day even though we talk on phone twice a day and online all day it is just not the same as having him here with me..hope we all will be hearing soon. Is so hard to sit and watch everyone after us get approved and feel we are just shoved on the side of his desk...best wishes...

Every day processing time change, why some people got it in two month others says 5 or 6 month

I know how you are feeing specially today being Valentines Day and them so far away. we are almost to the 6 month mark and no answers.. I have made a number of calls to the national center and have been given so many different answers it is like each time you call they say to wait a longer time. NO ONE knows what they are talking about and just try to reassure you to get you off the phone.. I put in a service request 1/31 and today got a message saying they are working on ours and could be another 45 days to hear anything...they assure me no problems and should be anyday....that was told to me each time I called well they are getting another call tonight and I will try to go up their ladder as far as possible..they don't know how it feels to see people months after us be approved and we just get passed by..hopefully you will be one of the couples they approve right away...best of luck I guess I now know what they meant when we were told 60% give up......

Still no NOA2 for us either. Our NOA1 date is august 30th We dont even know what to do at this point cause my fiance has been calling USCIS every other day and tells them people who filed in september have been approved in CSC and they say they're still approving mid august This process is so frustrating :( :(

I have been calling once a week and get the same answer which is not right.. if they are doing mid Aug then why is half of Sept done? I am with you this is frustrating I am tired of hearing it will be really soon now..call back next week to hear the same thing..I emailed my congress woman for help today like she doesn't have better thngs to do? If they just did their jobs and worked on them they wouldn't be so far behind or if they are overwhelmed hire more people to help.. we pay them enough they could afford a few more. I received my NOA1 August 6, 2010 and my case was last touched on October 3, 2010 and as of today nothing has happened. Is there anyone else still waiting or am i the only one? Waiting for such a long time makes me feel like i am the only one and the whole process is getting really frustrating.

you are not alone.. we are from Aug. 26th and everytime I call and speak to the Tier 2 they assure me no problems., no RFE's and should be anytime.. since an officer has been assigned to it. We were touched once on 9/01/2010 and not since.. is he/she just sitting on it? The last person assured me if we were going to get an RFE would of been long ago but yet I see some from that timeframe and they have gotten them. Wish they could just be truthful..I also put in a service request and they said they had not heard back to wait a month and if they still don't hear I could put another one in.. what to wait another month.. I can sympathize with you I know exactly how you are feeling...but they will not break us we will not give up..I told them I wish they knew how we all felt sitting here...feeling helpless and hopeless...bet it would be quick if they were appylying!

August is still most definitely being worked on. We got our NOA1 on the 20th Aug, and today.. well, yeah. !

But yeah point being Aug is still in the air, so do not give up hope. Any day now!

Are we the only ones in Aug. still upset about being put on hold? Almost 1/2 of Sept being approved and I was even told they are working on Aug. 16th.!! right!!! And it is more like 6 months and not 5 months..hmmm. on my calendar 6 months from Sept is March! but maybe mine is wrong.. Just sick of constantly being passed by and sick of hearing oh it is still being processed when last time touched was 9/1! Why the lies just be honest and tell us what is going on..This is like a big nightmare waiting day after day! Some of the horror stories on here are scary.. how can they treat us like this..? Maybe they should of cashed our checks when they got done working on us not before..tired of being at their mercy! Am I alone?

OMG! i cant imagine how mad would you be if after freakin 6months they claim to have have reviewing your case thoroughly only to find out that later they instead made some mistake to delay you more for another month, and then you had the chance to correct them begging them everyday on the phone and email even talking to their supervisors to please please do the correction only to find that they did nothing and send off your case somewhere else of nowhere then tell you to go chase it and get it sent to the right consulate or call the right consulate and ask them to accept it???

I really wish no one else experience this mess they put me thru, but if i have to send them anything for valentines, that is my greatest disappointment for them being irresponsible people.

I am sorry for what they have done to you..there is no reason for it..we are all at their mercy and they know it.. Read over and over.. to be fair to all petitioners cases come in and are done in order as they are received..and not all are the same and take longer.. tell that to the person still waiting from May..June.. Maybe the date they quote is just an average across the different staff that process cases. Maybe there are a lot more about the process we don't know (I am by no means justifying them). Maybe each staff has a number of cases assigned to them and processing speed varies from staff to staff. Maybe, some staff member assigned to some cases had family emergencies at some point. Maybe ...(I'm out of speculations ) I am not on their side, just thinking what if there are things we don't know that explain the time differences. The "rudeness" of the representatives may be due to stress or just their own fault! I'm lost for excuses!

I believe all is possible with these employees as you say.. but I have a hard time believing a case is touched days after the NOA1 is accepted and then never again.. also read on here someone who went and checked the background info on the FBI website it says it could take up to 120 days for a background..then why am I almost at 6 months and told repeatedly nothing wrong was found with my petition just still being reviewed..and to wait 2 more weeks.. ??? this adjudicator says everytime it is even picked up to show they are working they scan the barcode on our petitions and it will show an update..again why was ours touched on Sept. 1 and not again.. but still pending???

would be alot easier to do this..if all of us were happily married and not feel like we are being blown off..last night I was told by them they were working on Aug. 16th..funny the site says Sept 9th and why are they in the middle of Sept..why are so many of us missed..??? Hard to be nice when you are lied to over and over..I even received a site to look at that said they do 15 cases a day hmm don't even see 15 cases approved everyday..

I can appreciate all the pep talk but if I have to see one more couple be approved after my date.. I am going to scream..and to say don't worry well I am not worried about getting approved.. it is just hard to watch everyone and once again be passed by.. that is what drives me nuts..and frustrated..I don't blame the people who are approved I am happy for you all but what is the problem? maybe a call to a congressman is the only way to get their attention so many have and get approved quickly. If ours is just sitting on the side of someones desk please wake up and do your job if they have a problem bring it on.. don't just skip over us!

Tero.. happy you have made that choice for yourself..some of us feel differently and don't take the if and when it happens..I want my fiancee here with me soon..and can't take the oh well attitude.It also is easy for everyone who has theirs to say don't worry it will come soon.. tell that to the couples still waiting from June and July and Aug. watching Sept and Oct and even Nov. and Dec get approved so quickly..They say they are worked on the order they come in..well I used to hope that I no longer believe that!!!

Well, for me the main issue in the whole process is my sanity. I can chose to worry every minute of the process and risk a heart attack, or I can just take it all with a stride and stay calm ...I'll get it when I get it. I chose to not worry about it and have more time to save for the rainy day. I know it can be tough waiting "indefinitely" but if not for anything else, do it for your sanity sake.

Our case was never "touched" from NOA1 until we were approved 5 months later. I'm not sure getting a touch means anything with regards to how quickly you will get your NOA2.

I think you should not worry for now. If you are from CSC, you should get it before 7th of February, which is coming. I know how bad the experience is (just went through it, got NOA2 on 1/21). However, these are people. Some of them get sick, some of them have vacations. I think plus/minus 2 week variation is normal.

Lisa and John...I feel your pain , I really do! I am not happy to say the least as our receipt date is 19 August 2010 and we are still waiting for our NOA2. We filed at the California center just like you. This has really screwed up most of our plans because we were looking at a particular time frame as I was hoping to move out there before I'm actually going to be able to now due to this lateness.I have seen that here on visa journey there have been a few couples who filed after us and they have been approved already.while I am happy for these lucky people I am also deeply upset at the same time. I am a British citizen living in Italy and things move pretty slow here as a rule, so I'm expecting another long wait once we do get the ok. Apparently it'll probably take another two months to get the visa according to the timelines, but these timelines don't seem to be very reliable lately. I am feeling totally depressed and miserable

thank you for the comment..and know how you are feeling too we had dates set up for wedding and place arranged and all hoping we would be almost done in Jan. well now we have no idea when to plan and a real wedding has to be arranged months in advance. I am sorry you are going thru this too and know how frustrated you must be. I hope it all works out soon for both of you. we put in the status request but still not even been touched so who knows if it really was put in..I am right there with you with the being depressed and obsessed with constantly checking for any notification but it never comes..

OUrs was touched only once on 9/1/2010 our receipt date was 8/26/2010 so they have not even touched our case since then..they have approved 8 out of the 11 of us..so I also wondered where is our case? has anyone evenlooked at it.. we have been in initial review forever..but best of luck hopefully soon for you too.
